It was my first time to visit this Japanese shop. I got a rice ball with tuna because I believe there is no Japanese shop serves a bad quality of rice ball. However unexpectedly, the taste was awful... Tuna and rice were tasteless and even tuna was a bit smelly. Sadly the only flesh thing was seaweed which came with the rice ball... You know what, Rice ball is the easiest Japanese food to make, but essential food in Japan. It is almost like chips here in the UK. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone as they don't know how to make the basic Japanese food. I will never visit this shop again.

i personally think "Reviewer siege" some personal problem with them, i eat there regularly and if there is any problem i let the staff know and they try to do the best,
i think commenting about them and not even letting them know is totally wrong,if you were not happy and you did ask for refund and they refused it or something then i am with you.
but just by eating once and not letting them know whats wrong,is totally unfair.

i would highly recommend this place all the time and would suggest you to try once more and if not happy let them know rather leaving negative feedbacks for them.

This place has been going for over 15 years. A little hole in the wall selling bento boxes that includes, noodles, katsu and sushi. I first encountered this place in 1994 and suffice to say it was a regular little pit stop where I could have average Japanese food for a fiver. Over the years the prices have increased while the quality has gone so far down to be on the critical list. March 29, 2010 will be my last visit to Sushi-So after it firmly puts the doubt in the phrase benefit of doubt.
The rice has for sometime been an issue here, usually undercooked and hard, which is a problem when storing sushi rice in a cold cabinet. But now It’s unlikely that they are even using sushi rice, more like long grain rice that is cooked to death so it is sloppy and soggy and sticks together because it is a rice mush pumped through a machine. Sushi is cold and tasteless and comes from frozen product defrosted – I know this because uni is not in season right now but Sushi-So has it all year. Cold, tired, gloopy boxes of noodles and teriyaki are thrown in the microwave to produce reheated corpses of salty sweet slop. I imagine that this is what they fed prisoners in Japanese POW camps as they wouldn’t dare to give this sludge to today’s prisoners. I had no time to return my punishment so threw it in the bin – sorry bin.
The owner is not Japanese and is obviously just in it to chuck out any crap anywhere in the hope that some of it sticks and some money sticks to that. Don’t get me wrong, in places such as New York and California I’ve had sushi cooked by French , Korean, Chinese whatever and I still dream about its perfection. Sadly in the UK so many sushi places not run by Japanese people are an offence to sushi and Japanese food and this place reinforces the belief that, like Parmesan or Champagne, sushi needs to be a protected trademark.
This place deserves no stars and should be avoided at all costs. If you’re desperate go to Pret-A-Manger. Nasty.

It is utter non sense. I work in hospital club form last ten years just opposite this hole in a wall ( Bar-clays Bank ATM) literally it is minting money. I have eaten several times at this place. I have seen drastic changes in its appearance . It is very nice now.Food is value for money. Staff is very nice. Once i did not like the taste of the teriyaki chicken ( too much vinegar) i complained to the staff and she immediately gave me the cash refund even though i refused to take since i had eaten the meal.
In fact 90% of their customers are Japanese and thus they do not mix and match like others to make adjustments to sell to all. I have seen rushes Q at lunch times in summers.
I also have one complaint against them which i have told to staff several times but of no use. Their delivery is very late. It comes at 12.30 or even at 1 pm and we have to wait till it comes. Believe me you can see people literally waiting outside the shop for the delivery. It is a scene to watch. regular customers do not even let the sales girl to remove the boxes from the container to put for display. They themselves pick from the boxes. It is very strange. I will take a picture and post it here.
I am sorry to say that either you have some grudge against them or you have some vested interest in defaming them. But i am sure nobody will be fool enough to wait for 15 years to decide to quit. Anyway everybody has his own opinion. But facts speak for themselves. We are regular customers and are very happy.

Nope - not the wrong place and I was going to Sushi-so way longer than two years and I also too never had a problem - now I do.

"In fact 90% of their customers are Japanese "
Absolute rubbish!! Your review sounds like you work for Sushi-So!
In fact I'd be more than happy to test your claims.
If in one day 91% of customers are Japanese then I'll take every dish that they eat and take it to all the Japanese restaurant chefs that I know. If they say I am talking crap then I'll pay Sushi-So a days takings and change my review.
I used to eat there all the time, now I wouldn't even eat the plastic they serve the food in.
