I lunched at this Thai restaurant (Tawana) for years before I discovered that Tawana meant 'sun'!

I think the high spots are the soups - the Tom Kai Ga is the best I've ever tasted. Also, the prawn won-ton is terrific if you don't want soup.
Personally I find that Thai salads are too hot for me, but the green curry is a favourite.

Apart from Thai and Chinese customers, the Tiwana has a clutch of regulars: a retired academic, a Japanese pianist, a record producer and quite a few local business people. The service is friendly and the prices modest for what is definitely a good restaurant of its type.

Tawana is a good Thai restaurant with a wide variety of food on the menu. The pandanus chicken and green curry are great here, no complaints, but food portions are very small. Service can be slow as there are only 2-3 waitresses catering to the large crowd. Otherwise, its a good place for a pleasant night out.
