We live in Kennington and regularly eat here in fact we have never had a bad meal. The staff are very friendly and in summer you can eat outside in their enclosed courtyard garden. Takeaways always arrive when they say they will usually about 45 minutes.

As residents of Kennington for over 10 years, we have used all of the local restaurants and we will not be returning to Thai Ming...Ming being the operative word! The greeting was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. We ordered two cockails and asked to keep the drinks list as we were likely to order a bottle of wine. They agreed and then proceeded to remove the list 3 times. One cocktail arrived long before the other but we did manage to finally secure a chilled bottle of rose. We decided upon the set menu for 2 and the mixed starter was fairly pleasant. Then the main courses arrived and then it went downhill. They were cold . It was far from acceptable so we called the waitress over who apologised and promptly removed the dishes but left us with the cold food we had already dished up on our plates. Our curries returned having been shoved in the microwave and we were left trying to find space for the new hot food amongst the cold debris. Yuck. We decided to leave the food as it really wasn't pleasant at all and declined the dessert, which was included in the set price. When the bill arrived we were charged for the full amount PLUS an extra glass of wine we didn't have and service charge. We asked to speak to the manageress who was very unpleasant. She informed us we did have the glass of wine as she had poured it herself (!!) As all of our dirty glasses had been left on the table, she grudgingly accepted this as proof that we didn't have that extra glass. She then checked with all the staff to see if we had eaten any of the main course. She finally removed the glass of wine from the bill and charged us for the starter and drinks but told us if we didn't wish to pay the service charge they would only accept cash. Is this legal? Customer service training is highly recommended particularly for the management. On the plus side, rumour has it that the rat infestation in the al fresco dining area has been resolved.

A friend and myself went to the restaurant on the evening of 05.01.11; neither of us had eaten there previously. The restaurant gives the appearance of being rather uncared for, and neglected. It was a cold evening out, and was almost as cold inside, with just one or two small convector heaters (the type you'd have in your living room), doing a very poor job of keeping the place warm. The low temperature makes eating there an unpleasant experience. The front door of the restaurant is quite heavy, and every time a customer enters or leaves, it crashes closed, with an almighty bang - obviously the owners are quite happy for their customers to pay for their meals while having to endure this disturbance. These factors might be mitigated against if the food was of a good standard - unfortunately it isn't. We started with a hot and sour soup - the soup was full if shell fish shells, which I assume had been used to make the stock for the soup - these should be strained off. The main courses would have been just about acceptable, if they had been priced according to their standard (5 out of 10); but unfortunately they are not - in short the prices charged are high, considering the fairly poor quality of the food. To conclude - the Thai Ming is not recommended.

We ordered a takeaway at 20.10. Unfortunately I missed a call from your delivery man at 21.15 (already 30 mins after we had been promised delivery). I attempted to call him back at 21.17, but he did not answer his phone. I then phoned the restaurant who informed me that the food would be further delayed by 30 mins. I then had a further conversation with the delivery man on his mobile when he questioned why I couldn't just go and pick up the food from the restaurant. This is incredibly rude, and completley unacceptable. I then phoned the restaurant to complain and to seek an apology for the way I had been treated. The person who answered the phone was unapologetic and entirely unhelpful.

Eventually the food arrived at 21.50 - an hour and a half after we ordered it. At the time, I was on the phone to the restaurant explaining that I thought this service was unacceptable and I didn't think I should have to pay.

The delivery driver gave me the delivery and I walked away explaining I didn't think I should have to pay, and that they should talk to the staff at the restaurant. At which point both the delivery drivers started being extremely threatening and started following me back to the house while shouting at me.

I then phoned the restaurant to complain about their drivers and the manner in which I had been treated. They in turn were incredibly rude to me and didn't apologise or offer any solutions.

5 minutes later I received a text message from the driver being abusive.

This experience has been extremely upsetting, especially since I have been a regular customer for many years, and I would like to understand how you are going to deal with it.
