The Best Korean Restaurants
They might not quite be as well known as some of its neighbours but the best Korean restaurants in London showcase just quite how delicious Korean food can be. From dolsot bibimbap to kimchi and authentic BBQs, the best Korean restaurants in London illustrate that this oft-overlooked cuisine can more than match the best of the rest of Asia.
Koba
11 Rathbone Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1NA
This place is all about the BBQ, something only the best Korean restaurants in London get right. It's all done at the table (as it should), with gorgeously marinated bits of sirloin, pork belly, chicken, prawn, octopus and anything else they might have fresh thrown on and sizzled before your eyes.

Hwaro
228 Merton Road, Wimbledon, London, SW19 1EQ
This cracking place in Wimbledon shows that not all the best Korean restaurants are in central London. Another place that's great for the authentic Korean BBQ, the dolsot bibimbap is really worth trying too.

Busan
39 Holloway Road, Holloway, London, N7 8JP
This much-loved spot - without doubt one of the best Korean restaurants in London - closed, only to reopen a few doors down to surprisingly little fanfare. The dolsot bibimbap is the best in London but the gunmandu (crispy, fried dumplings filled with mince meat and shredded veg) are also really worth getting stuck into.

Asadal
227 High Holborn, Holborn, London, WC1V 7DA
If you fancy an authentic taste of Korean cuisine then this Holborn spot is a good shout, with nothing watered down for Western palates. It might have lost a few customers since the opening of nearby Kimchee, but this remains a great alternative.

Kimchee
71 High Holborn, Holborn, London, WC1V 6EA
Oddly they don't actually get the kimchi quite right at this popular Holborn restaurant but the rest of the menu is very good indeed, showcasing the best in Korean cuisine. Pork belly is excellent, the raw beef dolsot bibimbap superb and the katsu curry (which is actually Japanese) surprisingly good too.

Bibigo
58-59 Great Marlborough Street, Soho, London, W1F 7JY
Already a popular chain in Korea itself, Bibigo launched its first London restaurant in 2012. There's a health-food element to it but there are some really good items to get stuck into, not least a genuinely brilliant bulgogi steak complete with ridiculously impressive marbling that melts into tender deliciousness.

Tohbang
164 Clerkenwell Road, Clerkenwell, London, EC1R 5DU
This place isn't the best Korean restaurant in London but it does a roaring trade at lunchtime. The yukgaejang soup is a great winter warmer, and even though the spicing isn't quite right it really does do the trick when the cold hits.
