The Best Michelin Star Restaurants
London's culinary boom has coincided with an increase in the number of Michelin star restaurants we lucky lot have access too. And if they're good enough for those lovely folk at Michelin as they beaver away in their Parisian lair, they're good enough for us. Obviously Michelin star restaurants are expensive affairs, so we've carefully chosen those that we think are the best in order that you don't waste your hard-earned on tiny morsels of overpriced food. Bon appétite.
The Ledbury
127 Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London, W11 2AQ
The Ledbury in Notting Hill currently holds two Michelin stars but you get the feeling a third could well be on its way. It's often heralded as the capital's best restaurant and it's becoming increasingly difficult to disagree. Not only is the food exquisite, the restaurant is remarkably welcoming too, which is always good for somewhere of this calibre.

Arbutus
63-64 Frith Street, Soho, London, W1D 3JW
This gorgeous little restaurant in Soho is very deserving of its Michelin star. The seasonal food is seriously good but it's the accessibility that ensures this gets on our list. Excellent prices, every wine by the glass or the carafe, and charming, friendly service: this is definitely one to try.

Heston's first London restaurant was one of the biggest launches for years, and thankfully it was worthy of all the brouhaha. The food isn't as 'molecular' as The Fat Duck but it is very good indeed - so good, in fact, that the Michelin judges furnished it with a sparkling Michelin star within its first year of opening.

One of only two London restaurants with three Michelin stars (the other being Ramsay's Royal Hospital Road restaurant), this one's the better bet for consistently sublime food. Try the rum baba - it's incredible.

This excellent restaurant from the Galvin brothers features superb cooking from Andre Garrett. But then the food has to be good to match the remarkable views out across London from the 28th floor of the Park Lane Hilton. A really great celebration venue.

Le Gavroche
43 Upper Brook Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 7QR
A bona fide legend amongst London restaurants, the Roux family's superlative French restaurant has been wowing London's diners for decades. About as far away from the Les Mis street urchin from where it takes its name, Le Gavroche is French food at its very best - and a favourite of those Michelin judges.

Hibiscus
29 Maddox Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 2PA
Claude Bosi transported his celebrated Shropshire restaurant to London back in 2007 and we greedy little piglets welcomed it with some very open arms. It's still going strong, serving exquisite seasonal fare served with some pretty serious precision.

Texture
34 Portman Square, Hyde Park, London, W1H 7BY
With the huge success of Noma (the Copenhagen restaurant ranked as number one in the world), Nordic cuisine seems to be on everybody's mind. Agnar Sverrisson and Xavier Rousset's superb restaurant combines the best Scandinavian influences with a modern European menu for what many fancy as the best restaurant in London.
