The Best Seafood Restaurants
The best seafood restaurants in London really know how to serve up the very finest fruits de mer, with the very best of those showcasing the kind of exemplary sourcing that gets fans of this sort of thing all hot under the collar. The last thing you want to do, though, is to go somewhere that doesn’t know its stuff, so take a look at the list of those venues we deem the best seafood restaurants in London and relax, safe in the knowledge that you’re getting the best the capital has to offer.
Burger and Lobster
29 Clarges Street, Mayfair, London, W1J 7EF
The clue to what makes this place such a good spot is in the name – what can be better than a simple menu featuring these two eternal favourites? The Canadian lobsters are ridiculously good though (and kept in tanks downstairs for freshness), and you can either have them whole or served in a roll, complete with very pleasant Japanese-style mayonnaise.

Bentleys Oyster Bar and Grill
11-15 Swallow Street, Mayfair, London, W1B 4DG
The grill upstairs gets most of the plaudits but we actually prefer the very relaxed downstairs dining room, where fresh as a daisy oysters sit alongside daily specials, ceviche, caviar, dressed crab, lobster bisque and a raft of other delicious seafood options.

Scott's
20 Mount Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 2HE
Not only will you be more than likely to bump into the odd famous face at Scotts, you’ll also be able to sample some of the very best seafood in London. It might not be cheap, but it is very good indeed, with the simple, but very fine, grilled Dover sole worth the trip alone.

J Sheekey
28-32 St Martins Court, Covent Garden, London, WC2N 4AL
Another of those restaurants famous for the famous faces, much of J Sheekey’s acclaim comes from its (admittedly) very impressive fish pie. However, to simply plump for that would be missing out on brilliant lemon spiced tiger prawns and some of the best lobster in town.

Applebees
5 Stoney Street, Borough, London, SE1 9AA
Any self-respecting restaurant on Borough Market should be a good one, and this cracking little one on Stoney Street is certainly that. It might not be the most comfortable of restaurants but the food is superb - keep an eye out for the fish soup and the often-incredible daily specials.

Wright Brothers
13 Kingly Street, Soho, London, W1B 5PW
The Wright Brothers venue on Borough Market usually gets most people’s vote but we actually prefer this one in Soho, primarily thanks to its excellent raw food bar downstairs. It’s cool as a cucumber and the seafood they use is excellent, so settle down with a chilled glass of something nice and get ready to stay for a while.

Hawksmoor Air Street
5a Air Street, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0AD
Not content with serving the best steaks in London, Hawksmoor now serve some of the best seafood. With Mitch Tonks (from The Seahorse) helping them out, the fourth Hawksmoor offers up huge slabs of brilliant fish - try the Hawksmoor cut of turbot, it's supreme.

Randall and Aubin
16 Brewer Street, Soho, London, W1F 0SQ
Camp as Christmas, this Soho institution is one of the best places in London to eat. There's nearly always a queue but the seafood is excellent, and more than worth the wait. Spend big and share a seafood platter, and enjoy every morsel.

Angler Restaurant
South Place Hotel, Seventh Floor, 3 South Place, The City, London, EC2M 2AF
This seriously, seriously good restaurant at the South Place Hotel is an easy one to add to this list. A superb, Michelin star menu puts an onus on seafood in a selection of dishes pretty much unrivaled in London. It's very, very impressive.
