The Best Sushi Restaurants
Sushi and sashimi certainly polarise opinion, with those that love it coming over just a little evangelical about it, and those that aren't fond often completely failing to understand it. We love it though, so please prepare for a love-in with evangelical undertones. Here's our list of what we think are the best sushi restaurants in London, so take a look and tuck in.
Yashin Sushi and Bar
1a Argyll Road, Kensington, London, W8 7DB
This excellent Kensington restaurant and bar got sushi and sashimi aficionados all hot under the collar when it opened, and with good reason. The knife work is sensational (try and get a seat at the bar to see them in action) and the fish just about as fresh as it comes. There's an impressive wine list too, so you won't go thirsty.

Yoshino
3 Piccadilly Place, London, W1J 0DB
This is somewhere we always visit if we're in the area as you have to be a little bit careful in central London when looking for sushi and sashimi. Yoshino is always reliable though, and the staff are lovely. The sashimi assortment is definitely worth splashing out on.

Atari-Ya
15 - 16 Monkville Parade, Finchley Road, Golders Green, London, NW11 0AL
This place is so good that many people regularly cross the best part of London to sample its very fine wares. They've got other locations but this one is our favourites - it's cheap, excellent and equally good if you want a takeaway.

Dinings
22 Harcourt Street, Marylebone, London, W1H 4HH
Most good sushi restaurants are a bugger to get tables at - it's part of the charm. This place in the residential back streets of Edgware doesn't disappoint on that front, and neither does the sushi. It's not cheap, but it is very, very good.

Moshi Moshi Sushi
Liverpool Street Station, Moorgate, London, EC2M 7PY
Perhaps surprisingly, given that this place is located within a unit at Liverpool Street Station, Moshi Moshi does some pretty impressive sushi and sashimi. It's brilliant for lunch, and you can even order online - which we do pretty often, as it happens.

Chisou
4 Princes Street, Mayfair, London, W1B 2LE
We're very, very new to this brilliant place Mayfair but we'll certainly be making up for lost time. Plump for the impeccable sashimi platter and feast on some beautifully handled bundles of delight. Just beware - overspending is incredibly easy to do.

Sushi Tetsu
12 Jerusalem Passage, Clerkenwell, London, EC1V 4JP
Quite possibly the best sushi in London, Sushi Tetsu's tiny little spot on Jerusalem Passage is a brilliant affair, with top-notch sushi from ex-Nobu man, Toru Takahashi. There are only a few seats up at the bar so make sure you grab them, and watch a master in action.

Sasa Sushi
422 St John Street, London, EC1V 4NJ
This is the kind of sushi spot you should go to if you don't want to spend a fortune. The quality is good but the value even better, especially with some of the lunch deals they offer. It might not look particularly good but the old man manning the sushi counter knows his stuff.
