Warm atmosphere, indifferent staff, food very cheap (unfortunately tasted it!). Certainly not gastropub quality, most meals £5, but not trying to. A good lunchtime bolt hole when on a budget.

The Calthorpe Arms must be the most boring pub around. It is not my kind of drinking establishment that is for sure. The Calthorpe punters are mostly old crusty guys.

on the surface dull, but then so are most people.

You have to get to know them to discover their better qualities - but then if you are too shallow to bother then your rewards in life will be few
