I recently held a charity event at The Cape and I am very impressed. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. The drinks were reasonably priced as well as the food. The service was prompt. They have several screens with usb input from a laptop and free use of a microphone.
If you are booking a corporate or charity event, I highly recommend this place. I would definitely book it again if the need arose.
Placed looked nice so we went for a meal . what a rip ! overpriced and it was if the dishwashers were cooking on chefs night off! would have been better off at a weatherspoons.
shame
We did indeed have a lovely time at the Cape and the service was excellent. We all have been to The Cape before, either as a team or individually which is why we thought it would be perfect to go again for lunch.
Thanks for your efficient service & for making our lunch enjoyable.
All the very best!
I’ve been to take Cape on more than one occasion and it never disappoints. I never have to wait for food longer than 20 min and if its busy I make sure I call too pre order because my brake is only 1h. The thing that I probably like the most is the staff. They always make sure my food is ok and that I get it they way I like it. The only thing I would suggest would be probably putting the candles out more often. It can get a little dark there sometimes. It’s also a shame they don’t have an outside area because the place would be 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend.
I didn’t know they were so busy for sport. If you book a table they will give you a really good seats to see the big screen.
It’s worth it, especially for the bigger games. I highly recommend.
I recently visited the Cape with my friends and I must say we had a really good time.
We all enjoyed the good value for money food and found the staff really nice and helpful.
We especially liked that there’s a DJ on a Friday night, that really build the atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back.
Absolutely shocking - this is a venue worthy of a visit from Gordon Ramsey!
As soon as we arrived there was a lunch party at the bar complaining about the time they'd been waiting for their food.
The bar staff were thin on the ground considering this was a busy Friday lunchtime and spent more time trying to troubleshoot problems than they did serving customers.
After a lengthy wait to try and order food we gave up and grabbed a sandwich on our way back to work.
In hindsight, looking at the food coming out of the kitchen afterwards i'm very glad we didn't order!
If your going to run a venue of this type in the City then at least do some research on your target customer and employ competent staff to do the job.
This lot really haven't a clue!
This bar is not so bad it has soem great staff fabio is the best and no I do not fancy him. It is the perect place to watch sport and the top bar is cool. So I think more poeple should come down and experince what the bar has to offer.
Terrible food!!!! Went for drinks and a quick bite on Friday night. The bar staff were inexperienced, but the worst thing was the food. Gag! Small over-cooked dry meat patty served on a big rectangular ciabatta, so two inches of ciabatta on either side of the meat. What's the point of having a ciabatta?! There was no sauce or anything. Cold bun and too small very poor quality meat. It was the worst burger I've ever had in my life. I'm not exaggerating. My friends' meals were bad too, dry gluggy rice and dry chicken, and disappointing veggie stack. We complained to the staff and manager but they just looked at us blankly, shrugged, and walked off. Please save yourself 10pounds+ and avoid the meals here.
Ok The Cape bar can get very busy at times but I have always found the staff polite and helpful. I went ther last week and the food service was very slow which was a little annoying as I only have a short lunch break however every one was very helpful and the staff changed what could have been a horrible lunch into a good lunch out I will be returning as I was so impressed with the bar service that I recived. But please can you do me a favour and fill up the tomato sauce.
Went to the Cape Bar on Friday evening for a birthday bash. Although the actual venue was great, bar service was abysmal. There was ONE person behind the bar trying to serve people who were standing six deep waiting to get served. We waited at least 15/20 minutes before getting served. I resent queueing up to try and give someone money! False economy to cut back on staff because it's going to take that much longer to get the customers' money in.
I will not be going back ! I was in with my work crowd (JP Morgan) from literally the building ajoining the bar. I was in London for only 2 days as I work from Belfast and I tried to pay for a round with a Northern (Irish) Bank £20.00 note. After much looking and wondering (at one point 4 members of staff were standing around the note) an Irish member of staff, I presume is the manager, told me he can't accept it. I attempted the obvious by telling him it was Sterling and legal tender and the rest. I was with my Manager! How did that look?! I mean it is London, not the furthest reaches of Mongolia. You should be used to Northern Irish notes by now. I used to live in London many years ago but I assumed things have changed . They obviously haven't. In this bar anyway. I will not be going back and will tell eveybody I meet to do the same.
The Prodigal was not what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere and excellent playlists of the evening.
I would happily introduce more of my friends to The Prodigal with raving reviews of what a fantastic night we had there.
The Prodigal is ok but nothing flash. It has an upstairs and a downstairs and the range of beverages is fairly limited. The Prodigal also has a flat screen TV on the wall.
