It's amazing how people only seem to use these sites when they have had a bad experience... I recently moved to Clapham and not knowing anything about the area I stumbled upon the Clapham North. A friend and I popped in to get a quick bite to eat and ended up staying all evening! Our waitress was fantastic - really friendly and welcoming - and we loved the table service. there was sport on in the back of the pub, which although not to our taste, it had obviously attracted a lot of footie boys and there was live acoustic music in the area we were in. (the singer was amazing!)We both ate from the main menu and thoroughly enjoyed the food - if we had to give one criticism it would be that there was too much of it! As new locals we will definitely be returning.
Went to the Clapham North bar this Christmas. Arrived about 10:00pm. This is a warning for people going to this bar, but after observing what was going on in the pub, there is a group of thieves working this bar. Watch out for your bags and coats, phones and money. They seem to prey on very drunk young girls who leave their jackets and bags while they are dancing or talking to people.
Have been going to the Clapham North infrequently for several years, last about 18 months ago, and always had a good time until tonight. Had a work Christmas party; it was very expensive for a very mediocre two course pub meal (not including any drinks), tables (for about 20) were right in the middle of the bar (at the front of the pub by the door) with very loud music so had to shout in everyone's ear - not great when you're trying to eat dinner - and service was mediocre at best. Later on, I went to the bar to get a few more wine glasses; the first barman said 'no' and then ignored me and the second found me two glasses and then ignored me (I asked for three).
Drinks were very expensive and badly made - my friend had a gin and tonic which was essentially water spiked with a small amount of gin.
The worst part was, it wasn't even that busy, despite being the Friday week before Christmas - every other time I've been there it's been rammed with no wriggle room but tonight there was plenty of space to get around and therefore no excuse 'of being very busy' for such a poor effort.
So disappointed.
This is a place where the management do not care about customer experience, as long as they are taking your money! Rude staff, below average food and dirty glasses = I am not going again.
I do not seem to be the only person with this view.

Rude staff, Rubbish food and Flat beer.
In my opinion 1 Star is too good for this place!
I went yesterday for lunch with a friend and my father. We ordered 1 BLT and 2 cheddar and mushroom sandwiches and the waiter was less than alert or switched on for his shift. A different lady arrived with the food 15 minutes later and handed us 2 BLTs and 1 Goats Cheese Sandwich, we were in a hurry so I said don't worry we will eat it as we don't have much time. I female waitress apologized but basically slagged off her male waiter, not very professional. I then asked for some vinegar and the waiter brought it to me, unfortunately after I had used it my friend pointed out that the vinegar had a at least 10 dead flies in the bottom, how pleasant!
My chips were ruined and only one of us ate what we ordered and the waitress gave me a 25% discount off the food, I was not impressed!
I will never go to Clapham North again, the place is a disgrace.

Went to the clapham north over the weekend, which before that i hadn't been in before some time.
The place looks more like a bar now, they have done it up a bit, but still has a great feel.
We ate and had some drinks. The food was great, drinks to. They finally have an ale on tap.
I'll definitely be going back...
Staff stand behind the bar talking when your waiting to be served and food was very disappointing not a place i would eat again.
Ive been here on a few occasions, has a great atmosphere fireplace in winter, outside seating in summer, good music. Food is just regular pub food nothing too exciting so would probably recommend going just for drinks. last time I went we saw mice running around under the tables which has put me off a bit, if I go back I definitely wouldn't order food.
Not a bad bar but a great location. The food is OK and I love the decor. Staff are a little lazy but a nice crowd of people go in the place.
I will be back.
Popped into this bar before going to a birthday party and really enjoyed the place.
One of the staff memebers ws pretty rude but the rest were really cool. Will be abck for a beer soon.

I went to the Clapham North last weekend and was not impressed. The decor was good but the atmosphere was very strange and the staff rubbish. The food looked good but I did not have any.
I went to the Station after and loved the atmosphere, we then went to Circle Bar and that was also brilliant.
I will be giving The Clapham North a miss in future.
I went to The Clapham North last week. The atmosphere was wicked, DJs were great and the food was lush. The Clapham North has a really chilled vibe, the staff were uber cool and it was a great night.
I absolutely love The Clapham North! The staff are amazing, so friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for anyone who is smart enough to go into this bar. The atmosphere is always buzzing, music is always perfect and averyone seems to love to come here no matter what day of the week. The Clapham North is definitely the best bar in Clapham if not South London.
Every time I have been to The Clapham North the staff have been awesome, the food has been great and it is always busy and bustling! I'd recommend booking one of the booths at The Clapham North on a Sunday!
The Clapham North. A classic London bar disaster. Tacky, prefab decor filled with people who have drunk too much. The music is too loud to have a conversation but no-one's dancing.
I went to the Clapham North last Friday night and then oh no went back again on Saturday morning. Don't worry I went back for a greasy fry up to soak up the effects of the night before. The Clapham North didn't let me down - the food was a big fat fry up packed with extra fat!!!
