The Venue
The Clarence certainly is special. Inside, a higgledy-piggledy interior of rainbow-coloured squiggly lampshades, multitudes of mirrors, chaise lounges and strangely-shaped clock paintings mean the place could fit smugly amongst any of the boho-chic bars lining Portobello Road.

The Atmosphere
Three different rooms, as well as two outdoor patios allow caverns of space for the hordes of people an award winning pub inevitably attracts.

Embracing the classic, reliable formula required to create a top-notch pub for the Noughties, The Clarence nabs the friendliness of the traditional old man’s club. It also lifts the practised shabby sheen of more contemporary arts clubs, whilst managing to side-step the scruffy perils of the former and all the pretension of the latter.

The Drink
A selection of 24 global beers and 36 varieties of wine ensure you definitely won't go thirsty but aside from that there really isn't anything that new fangled or novel about The Clarence.

The Last Word
In a nutshell, The Clarence is named after the owner's dog who is also a regular in the place. London pubs don't get much more down to earth than that and The Clarence is all the better for it.
