The ViewLondon Review
The original style bar and restaurant for the fashionista jet set. The Collection shows no sign of being ‘so last season’.The VenueThe Collection has been a favourite of the South Kensington crowd for many years with its famous 80ft catwalk entrance. Once inside, this vast venue still makes an impression with one of the longest bars in London and the loft-style interior, which adds to the cool status. Outside, the flaming poles and red rope adds a touch of glamour and, while this bar exudes class, dressing up is paramount if you want to gain entrance.
The AtmosphereFriday and Saturday nights are the busiest of the week at The Collection with commercial RnB, hip hop and funky house for a discerning crowd. Midweek, expect to find a more chilled out experience with candles flickering in the background and mood lighting setting the scene. Bag yourself a booth for ultimate privacy. With a midnight licence and free entrance, the only problem is what to wear!
The FoodThe restaurant upstairs at The Collection overlooks the party throng and serves up some delightful dishes fit for any occasion. Book well in advance because food is certainly not overlooked here, and it shows.
The DrinkOne word: cocktails. You will not be disappointed by the vast selection of mind-boggling selections on offer. The bartenders expert knowledge also extends to ordering off menu, so if you have a particular taste it will be catered for. Throw into the mix a great selection of wine along with bottled beer and you have a well stocked drinks list. Be warned, prices aren’t cheap but living the high life has its price!
The Last WordMany thought The Collection would not last, but here it stands as one of the best bars in London. There is definitely a St Tropez feel here and the affluent regulars know it - just don't forget the Prada!
