We chose the special lunch menu. $7.50 for a choice of three lunch items and a drink.
There was no more fish and chips left so I chose the caramelised onion and blue cheese tart with fries. The fries were almost glued together and were clearly not freshly fried and the tart was burnt. My friend ordered the ham sandwich also with fries. He had the same problem with his fries and the ham sandwich literally consisted of slice ham, tomato and lettuce. Nothing else, no dressing. We spoke to the manager on duty and I said that I didn't feel it was very gastronomic and he said oh well it's only $7.50 and became defensive. This pub is by no means gastronomic. Don't be fooled by their claim that it is the only true gastronomic pub in Richmond. I have had much better food elsewhere. The only good thing about the place is the ambiance however this is ruined by the customer service.

I cannot disagree more with the review of The Duke. We had a wonderful evening at the pub recently. The atmosphere was wonderfully welcoming and relaxing. The food was fabulous and the service outstanding. We will definitely be going back with our friends for drinks and a bite to eat soon! Give it a try and see for yourselves!
