I've never had a sunday roast as good as the one served up at the Easton. It's pricey but the portions are huge and the food is amazing. I've brought friends on several occasions and everyone leaves extremely satisfied with the quality of the meal.
Having said that the service is often half baked and I really don't like how they organize their sunday "sittings", meaning you have a time limit at your table. You can avoid this by eating at the later sitting.
I've only visited once at night for tapas and I found the experience mildly irritating due to how loud it was and the slow bar service.

I'm surprised to see good reviews for this place- having been there a few times, I assumed it would be universally panned. It's a hole - the food might be good, but the service is so unpleasant as to be insufferable. Clockwatching wannabes who resent working in a pub so much that they see nothing wrong with smoking at the bar and taking glasses away half full at 10.45pm. We left, with the sarcastic abuse ringing in our ears, feeling robbed and depressed.

The Easton is tucked away and is slightly seperate from the busy Exmouth Market and it's decent selection of bars and pubs, like a naughty schoolboy sent outside of the classroom to think about his behaviour. However, if The Easton were a schoolboy he'd be top of the class and on his way to Pub University.

The Easton also rates highly in the popularity stakes as every time I visit the place it's rammed full of people, mostly in their mid-20's or early 30's. A hugely popular place for a drink after work on a Friday and many customers arrive with the intention of heading on seomwehre else but end up staying due to the fact that this place has plaenty of seating and a decent selection of drinks.

This place has it all. A great, welcoming atomspehere, a good selection of beers, ample seating inside for large broups and a handful of picnic tables outside for drinkers to sit and and watch the world go by on the street outside. Prices are pretty much run of the mill for this part of London so you won't be hitting the overdraft hard to drink in a place that offers all the good thing listed above.

All in all, The Easton is a popular place to drink but has retained it's charm meaning that drinkers often return time and time again.

I live down the road from The Easton and I must say their Sunday lunch is fantastic. Yummy roasts and excellent vegetarian options as well. The environment is very relaxed, the decor is lovely and the seats are comfortable. Friday nights at The Easton are a bit more of a party atmosphere (including DJ) when they serve a tapas menu that is a bit expensive but very good.
Overall, the food is a bit pricey at The Easton but you are paying for the large portions, the wonderfully fresh ingredients and the skill with which the dishes are compiled. Yummy.

The Easton has surly bar staff, expensive food, no snacks except expensive olives or expensive almonds, no ale. Otherwise, great.
