We had a very pleasant meal and bottle of wine here after a show. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely return here next time we are in London.

THE RUDEST STAFF EVER!!!! DON'T GO THERE!!!My friends and I went there for lunch. We were asked to change a table. We refused because we hadn't chosen it but it had been showed to us by a waitress. That was a reason to be rude to us till the end of our stay there. I paid for crisps which I did not get. I told about it to a waitress and another guy came and threw them on the table. Food was really bad. After a few minor unpleasant situations we were sure that we are not going to leave any tip there. After paying we did not get change. I told to a waitress that we are expecting our change - then the guy came again, threw it on the table saying: we don't want your money! It was just shocking!!!!

Well i would'nt rate it a one star,my friend and i went to the globe 14/5/11
to have a meal before we went to the theatre and we were half way through our meal and the owner ask us if he could move our table over so he could seven people round a four seating table and my friend said no cause it was obstructing the double door leading to the outside terrance where people were eating and they were coming in and out, then with out of the blue he said f... off out of my pub he picked our food up and took it away, well we were dumfounded,we were two ladies on our own and he still told us to f... off out of his pub.we are taking this further.

The staff at this Pub were extremely unpleasant and rude towards us and seemed to be getting frustrated and impatient when we did not order our food straight away. The food was very ordinary and extremely over priced for what it was, and so were the drinks. We paid £3 for 'marinated olives' from the starter menue and they were simply cheap tesco pipped olives from a jar with crushed garlic sprinkled on top. Utterly discusting thought, taste and value. My girlfriend ordered the steak and ale pie which was already £7 something and then had to pay an extra £1.50 for chips to accompany the pie. Avoid this Pub at all costs, you will waste your money and time, there are plenty of other better Pubs in the same area which we unfortunately discovered after our horrible experience at this Pub.

This is probably the best pub in covent garden since the new owner. With his Gallic charm and service standards brought it back to its former glory as a local institution. The food is excellent, very clean and all the staff speak perfect English.

NEVER GO TO THIS PUB. It was dirty, it's staff were extremely unpleasant and it is completely devoid of character. The Staff spoke very poor English and tapped impatiently when I was deciding on my order (despite it being completely empty). After receiving my flat pint of beer (in a filthy glass I might add), I sat down at a table and, about 3 sips in, a mouse ran over my partners foot and we left. Terrible on all levels from start to finish. STAY AWAY!

My wife and i had sunday lunch at the globe and were made to feel instantly welcome by the staff. The food was very acceptable for the
price and we had a decent bottle of red for under 20 pounds. The whole experience was enhanced by our delightful waitress Katie -the
"Cockney from Cardiff".We will definitely return.

The staff is excellent but the owner it is a stubborn! I wet there this Saturday after a meal just to get a coffee with my girlfriend and for no reason a guy stand up from a table and told us that the bar was closed for us, opened the till and shove the money to our faces and said that: it was his place and he could do whatever he wants, threatened us to call the police if we did not leave.
We accepted that and he just turned his back to us. After 30 minutes we decided to get our coffee somewhere else.
Really a idiot that wasn't able to speak English. The staff tried to comfort us but he was very aggressive towards them. They seemed really afraid of him.

Taking my grown up daughter to the Theatre Royal I decided to call in on a nostalgic visit at The Globe.

This is the pub that I spent many a lunch hour with my wife before we were married.

After buying 2 large glasses of wine I began to explain to my daughter where her mother and I used to sit.

Before I was half way through sentence all at the bar were treated to the publican swearing and cursing at another couple with very young children asking if they could dine at the upstairs restaurant.

I often travel to away football matches and I'm yet to experience such language from any publican or their bar staff.

A mature lady along side us was equally embarrssed by his language.

We finished our drinks outside and moved on.

The Globe is a inviting and cosy pub but doesn't necessarily stand out in Covent Garden. There are better choices in this area but on the other hand, you could do worse!
