The ViewLondon Review
Located on Inverness Street, a minute’s walk from Camden Town station, The Good Mixer is a homely, typically Camden venue. Britpop fans will know Blur and Oasis have supped pints in here, and you may be privy to spotting a few more rock Gods. The VenueThe Good Mixer is a fairly large venue with a bar that serves both of the two halves that make up the space. Both sides have seating, pool tables, game machines and a jukebox.
The AtmosphereOne thing The Good Mixer cannot be faulted on is the atmosphere, which would get five stars on its own. Anyone would think you’re in a local town, with banter flowing as much as the Jagermeister on tap. That’s right, on tap. The staff are extremely friendly and the regulars may as well be PR for the establishment.
The MusicThere’s a strict rock ‘n’ roll jukebox and a distinct Brit pop feel to the musicality of The Good Mixer. It’s not intimidating or theme based, it just goes with the territory and adds to the experience.
The DrinkMost drinks are available here, with the aforementioned Jagermeister chilled and on tap, making for one hell of a post work venue. Feel free to ask the staff for any concoction you want or, if you’re brave, one of their own and it’ll materialise in front of you - all reasonably priced.
The Last WordGreat atmosphere, great banter and great drinks. What appears to be a typical pub is in a maverick class of its own where you don’t know who you’ll meet or share a pint with. It’s worth paying a visit to The Good Mixer, if not for the banter then for the Jagermeister on tap.
