I went there recently the food was very poor and we sent back an really stale pate and they tried to charge us for it. The staff were very unfriendly and just not interested in you at all. Plus there seem to be confusion by the staff on the food orders. We asked if there were specials to be told no, only to see food being eaten by others later that were not on the menu. We won't go again...

Excellent food and beer. Really loved the scallops and the Sunday lunches. The wine can be disappointing. Stick to the beer?

Only eaten here on a couple of occasions (and probably will avoid in the future).

The food first time was good (lambs kidneys on toast) and the only reason to give the 2-star rating (apart from a reasonable selection of lagers on tap - although overpriced).

However service on both occasions was terrible - at first I thought this was just down to a busy time of the day but staff seemed to ignore customers unless they badgered the bar staff to badger them!

Food on the second occasion was just poor - meat dry and overcooked, salad and dressing straight from the supermarket across the road!

In short overpriced, overstaffed (but poor customer service) and badly cooked food.

Might be ok for a stop on a boozy night out due to a ok lager selection.

The food at The Horsehsoe is thoroughly enjoyable. I have eaten there on many occasions and have always been statisfied with my meal. The Horseshoe is good for traditional pub style food and British cuisine.
