It was the first time I had visited this pub last evening but the Manager was very friendly and welcoming. I will certainly be going again.
This is a local in the west end. The landlady has turned the pub into a place where you feel totally at home. She also gets into the spirit of holiday festivities providing a lovely atmosphere to start Christmas etc. off with a swing. A buffet is also sometimes provided and anyone is made extremely welcome.. I can't wait to return.
The last two comments seriously sum this place up. The atmosphere is fantastic the manager is a legend in her own right! It's the perfect place to go for a night out, and if you was unfortunate not to be there at christmas or new year then you missed out on what was one of the best nights ive had in london.
I have to say that I totally agree with the previous customer - RAW. I also found this pub to be very friendly and me and my friends had one of the most enjoyable evenings at this establishment. I would highly recommend anyone to go there especially if you’ve had a hard day at work as you’ll soon forget all your troubles… AB
I normally hate pubs and have spent most of my evenings out in wine bars, however wine bars all look the same with the same same choices for drinks and food. So stepping into the Lemon tree was a true test of my resolve. I was so pleased to have taken the step..... its what a bar really should be !!! clean bright and friendly, it feels like your a local within seconds the staff are really cheerful bright and friendly, the lady who owns the place is a gorgeous/stunning bubbly blonde who knows her customers by name, she's a real London lady.I have passed by many times on a Friday and have been put off by big crowds outside but DO NOT LET THAT DETER YOU, go inside its really quiet...and they have a Great selection of drinks none of the over priced rubbish sold in...........................WINEBARS
Having revisited this pub for the first time in several months, I was pleased to find that there has been a change of manager and staff. The beer tasted better than my previous visit the atomsphere was friendlier, also the staff are more considerate and helpful. I will beusing this pub a lot more often.
Never before in London (the city some people refer to as unfriendly) have I experienced such rudeness and terrible service as at the lemon tree. Served two (overpriced compared with the local area) pints of lager which were flat, I politely requested that they were changed. The landlord argued firstly that they weren't flat, then when I insisted that they were said I could F*&k off if I didn't like it. This pub can get away with treating people like this as a trap for tourists and passing trade but if you want a friendly regular drink I recommend that you look elsewhere as just round the corner are a number of much more pleasant pubs serving good beer with a smile.
Nicely nestled behind the Strand, this is a lovely little pub with good beer and great service.
