Can't agree more with the reviews below. The service is probably the worst I have experienced in London.

If you like being in an overcrowded bar with bad bar service and rubbish overpriced drinks then this place is for you.

Any place above a Tesco can't be good now can it.

Avoid.

i have to agree wholeheartedly with the previous review. The policies in this bar are ridiculous. Making for an evening of not being able to sit down (depsite loads of free tables) being squashed between too many people whilst trying to balance your drinks, bag etc. If you want to get to the bar to buy a drink this involved a big scramble through everyone, long queues for expensive drinks. Cocktails were great but i would never return to this pretentious uncomfortable bar.

Well it looks nice, I'll give it that - but that's it. A triumph of style over substance, indeed. I arrived here on Friday night intending to meet a group of friends for drinks. Unfortunately, as the bar has a policy of allowing people to reserve the very few tables they do have, there was nowhere to sit - every single table was reserved - not a great policy for a bar, in my opinion: if you're meeting a group for (expensivbe) cocktails, it's ncie to think there's at least potential to park your arse at some point. I pointed out that the vast dining area behind the restaurant was almost completely empty and perhaps it might be helpful to allow people to use those tables, and was told by the breathtakingly disinterested waitress that we could indeed sit there - but only after 10 o clock (it was 7.30 at the time.).
Now, I don't have a problem standing, but not for two and a half hours, and the fact that the bar itself is chin high means you can't even lean against it - standing alongside it feels a llittle bit like standing next to a wall. I was about to phone my friends and tell them to meet me elsewhere but happily the bar saved me the trouble when they declined to let my friend in as she had a small overnight bag. I can see that my 5 foot 11 extremely attractive girlfriend might be mistaken for a terrorist but still, they could have handled it better than getting a doorman with a sub zero IQ and an attitude problem to point at my friend's bag and say: 'You can't come in with THAT' as she approached the door. He then asked her to 'step back from the rope' while she tried to telephone me to let me know the situation. Funnily enough, we then decided to take our custom elsewhere. For reference, 'Loft' people, we spent £100 that night. Some of it could have gone into your tills, but I'm now mighty glad it didn't. It's all very well having a good looking bar, but if you carry on like this then people aren't going to want to sit in it for long(if any seats are free).

16 of us went here for my friend's 24th last Friday night. We all started off the night in good spirits and enjoyed the cocktails despite a twenty minute wait when it was not even busy.

The meal was absolutely awful, we all ate of the set menu which was terrible value for money. My meal cost £20 for a mozarella salad and what was meant to be risotto, but was actually boiled plain rice with tinned chopped asparagus. Not only was the food disgusting and inedible, it took an hour for each course to come out and the waitor did not speak English.

I find the fact that you have to queue upstairs by the door for ten minutes to go outside for a cigarette a joke and once outside you get abused by what can only be described as a female Hitler midget with a clipboard who is pushy, rude and clearly in the wrong industry.

We all left The Loft at 11pm and none of us will ever go back. It was the worst night I have had in years and we were all extremely disappointed.

Well, after reading lots of good reviews of this place on a Sunday I thought I'd check it out. Whilst it does have a nice chilled atmosphere on a Sunday (and surprisingly, lots of kids in the restauranty area) there were a couple of things I wanted to share..
Not very good vegetarian choice. In fact no "choice" at all- only one thing on the Sunday lunch menu (not including the Brunch menu) that was not a meat dish. At least have the option of a veggie burger or something no?! Or even some fish for people who don't feel like having red meat?! Luckily the one veggie dish on there was ok. But just Ok. The boyfriend opted for the lamb roast, after I had told him about all the good reviews of the roasts. Again, this was Ok. But just Ok. Better roasts can be found just down the road, and for a few quid less it has to be said.
Oh and when we ordered the food they told us we got a free drink each to come with the food! Great, we thought. But then had to remind them of this and only got the drinks after we had finished our meal.
So in conclusion, at the risk of repeating myself, this place is ok. But just Ok.

If you want somewhere where the bouncers are exceptionally rude, where the manager shouts at you when you lodge a legitimate complaint about his security staff then does nothing when the same bouncer deliberately knocks a drink over
you, well except arrogantly lean against the bar and call you 'honey' even when you ask him not to... then you'll love this place. But I won't be going back - and neither will my friends, nor my friends friends...
