Worse say of my life really! The show is very poor, it looks like they hire the kids on the street and the female singer has a terrible Voice, even the waiters clearly are ashamed of it. The drinks have water in it but they have a bar conveniently openned with good drinks do they Can rip you off a bit longer. Chicken was raw, potatoes cold and the only thing that was good was the bread everyone was eating all the time. The lady from reservations looks like a witch herself and god shes not wearing a custom! We had a 2 for 1 discount and even then célt. Robbed. They should pay us to Be there. Its medieval torture. We left before dessert so we dont know about that! And someone should call the health inspection because there was water running through a wall and the waitress poured the left over soup from the plates into the pots again! Major rip off!
I went to the Medieval Medieval Banquet last night and I had the time of my life! It's perfectly family friendly and it definitely appeals to all ages. The show that is put on makes you feel like you're are actually at a banquet. I was literally bouncing up and down in my chair from excitement throughout the whole show. Our wench was very funny and interactive and the actors really brought the crowd into the experience. I would absolutely recommend the Medieval Banquet to everyone. It's a blast!
I've been all over Europe attending Medieval Baquets, in Italy, Latvia, Ireland and Britain and this was certainly the best yet. The food was great and and the music was a joy. Everyone at the banquet seemed to enjoy doing what they do. I would recommend this to anyone. I would not normally write reviews but the last comment seems to be incredibly unfair to the staff that clearly worked hard to make our night great.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I was there recently with my group. I was served cold , burned potatos, tastless cheap chicken . I wont mention wine . The worst wine I tried in my life. Price £50.They like selling themselves to offer theatre experience. Just wondering if they ever been to a theatre.
Total rip off
I've visited banquet on several occasions. My friend had birthday party over there, I then suggested it as our office Christmas party venue (we all had a great time). I took my friends visiting from abroad last weekend and have to say I was surprised how much the place changed since last December! Show is very different from what it used to be, I liked the old show but love the new one. Music is fantastic, performers have really good singing voices, 'wenches' are very friendly, over all very professionally done. I'm quite puzzled by other people's comments about food and wine. If you are after fine dining book a table at a restaurant. This is not a restaurant, I think it is very clear from any information you can find about the place. However, I think food tasted great. Wine was as any other house wine I've tasted before. No better no worse. Whole package is fantastic value for money and time. If you wanted to get the same program somewhere else you would have to go to theatre, then for a dinner, then to a pub for drinks and then to a club for a disco. Don't think you would manage to do that for less than £50.00!
I've been to Medieval Times in Orlando but this place kicks butt. What a great night! I was over in London for a vacation and Saturday night was wild. I've been to Medieval Times in Orlando but this place kicks butt. Sure there are no horses but the fighting is authentic and the music is cool. The food is seriously good compared to the stuff you get in the US. I'm coming back again next time I'm in town.
A brilliant party, great show, great service and loads of food. My company spent an evening at the Medieval Banquet in London, and I have to say it was a truly brilliant night out. Myself and my party of forty spent Wednesday at the venue. The whole evening was so well put together with non stop entertainment and laughter. Although the venue is large you always felt as if it was just for you that everything was being done. Our serving wenches went out of their way to ensure we had a great evening; as did the rest of the staff which ranged from Kings and Queens to jugglers and knights who fought in the middle of the floor much to the delight of the crowd. The food was excellent and served to the table in a performance like manner which again added to the occasion. There was plenty of it and it was piping hot and extremely yummy. All in all it was a great night out and we couldn't praise the staff highly enough for an evening that we will still be talking about for many months to come.
Liked: Food, Atmosphere, Service, Value
It's simply an evil dinner from hell's kitchen and cost's a fortune.
Bad food, bad wine and even worse beer.
Do not go there!
really great night, will visit again definitely!
Me and my girlfriend had dinner in the banquet on saturday night. Show had a long break becouse of some kind of situation so we had to wait over an hour for a sword fight, fortunatelly our wench kept us entertained thw whole time, dancing, joking and serving wine whenever we needed more. We had a lot of fun and we will be visiting again
Went last night to the Medieval Banquets Thanksgiving dinner. Really really poor.
The pumpkin soup was bland with no seasoning and served with stale bread.
The second 'course' was bbq ribs, they were burnt, poor quality meat and not enough were served so only 6 of the 10 people even got one! For vegetarians an insipid salad of old lettuce soaked in mayonnaise. When we complained another platter was brought out for those who had gone without - salami, sliced beef, cheese and pate straight out of a supermarket value pack.
Turkey was moist and reasonably well cooked with mini sausages wrapped in bacon. It was served however with frozen veg which were cold on reaching the table. The vegetarian meal only came after continuous prompting and was a tiny plate of dry, congealed fusili pasta in a shop bought tomato sauce. We sent it back and after a second discussion with the management our vegetarian got a slice of grilled aubergine with goats cheese. By this point the American couple who were sat next to us had left.
Pudding:Thin slice of over sickly pecan pie - essentially sugar not fully dissolved in water and definitely not caramalised poured over a few chopped nuts.
The entertainment was a series of historically inaccurate and cliched 'scenes' from Henry the 8th with the best lines stolen directly from Frankie Howard or Blackadder. A barely capable juggler, 'period songs' (whiskey in a jar being an anachronism of more than 300 years) and play fighting could only just be seen as it took part on the main hall whilst the tables sat perpendicular in side cellars. The tables were also arranged in such a way that you had to scrabble over the other guests to get in and out. There was plenty of encouragement to drink the cheap wine or bitter (which tasted off) and enforced 'joining in'. The free booze tap was promptly turned off with the pudding and replaced with an expensive bar.
For £10 you could hire a sofa cover come 'medieval' costume for 2h.
Hmmm , 100 pounds for two of us .... nasty food (pretty much inedible ) cheap wine and a couple of fire eaters / students in big dresses dancing ... ... for the same price I’ve eaten at michelin starred restaurants for less . Its aimed at tourists who don’t know any better
Having read previous reviews, I felt we had made a big mistake booking and not really looking forward to the Medieval Banquet experience but thank-goodness the reviews were wrong - all our party who attended, thoroughly enjoyed the evening - it was very entertaining we all had a good laugh - a very loud and rowdy evening and we all thought the food most enjoyable, plentiful and of a really good standard - certainly value for money. Wine and beer was flowing and replenished without hesitation. Atmosphere was good, not cold or damp as led to believe. Staff were excellent and worked very hard. Overall a most enjoyable and fun evening - to be recommended if you want something completely different.
I have just been to Medieval Banquet after reading a mixed selection of reviews. I have decided to write a review on this site as I feel people need to know the truth. The place is terrible, really terrible. But you know what. That is what made it so fantastic! The whole thing is badly orchestrated but it really had that faulty towers feel to it. Yes sure the accoustics were bad and entertainment was naff, but who actually goes to a medieval banquet in London for £45 and expects a 5 star night. More importantly, who cares. If you are open minded about nights out and enjoy a bit of silly banter, then go! The staff should be praised for the hard work they put into the night. They worked very hard doing whatever it was they do (mainly twirling around and singing odd tunes but it was ace) and one waitress helped us get more caraffs of wine and beer at the end of the night during the disco, so we didnt need to buy more drinks. Fantastic! Even if you had to put your hand in your pocket for drinks, then a round was £13 which is good in central london. We met an American Couple from Houston who joined our group. By the end of the night the drinks were flowing and we were certainly partying like it was 1509! So overall summary- absolute crap, but possibly the most enjoyable crap I have been to! Well done Medieval Banquet.
We went to the medieval banquet on 05-09-09 All I can say is what a fantastic night!!!
If we had taken notice of some of the reviews to be honest we wouldn't have even considered this place but thank goodness we ignored them!!!!
The enterainment was fantastic and enjoyable and the staff were so helpful and polite and worked so hard to ensure everyone had a great time.
Be prepared to join in with the singing and entertainment .....but honestly smile and just relax and take part and I promise you will enjoy yourselves.
The food was lovely and hot and was great value for money. Thank you to everyone who helped make my sisters 30th so memorable the six of us had a blast :-)
would certainly come here again ... Tracey B
I can't believe how many people have slated this place.
Didn't they think to do a little research before attending! I visited last night with my four sisters for a birthday and we really had a fun night out. (I am usually very critical and fussy!)
This place was great value for money - the food was good, the staff very friendly and King Henry and his court jesters etc kept us entertained all night.
The Beefeater had an amazing singing voice - we were really impressed! The red wine and ale wasn't fantastic but the white wine was really ok.
Where else in central London could you find good food, entertainment, drink, a disco and a good old laugh for £40!
To top it off there was a group of rugby players from Richmond in fancy dress.
They were very entertaining - so funny to see them in their hilarious outfits on the dance floor and they weren't bad looking either!!
I went to this place with a large group of friends for a birthday. And what an amazing time we had. I don't think i stopped laughing all night long. The beer and wine does not stop coming. The entertainment is cheap and tacky but all the more great fun. Something totally different to do in London and really good value for money. I just wished we had made the effort with fancy dress.. So we will defiently do that the next time..5 stars from us!!!
I had my hen night at =The Medieval Banquet, London and it was a blast. Perfect for what I wanted which was an affordable hen party that my Mum and Mum-in-Law would also enjoy.
I was levitated (strange) and then joined in the Medieval dancing. The staff were brilliant. The food was okay, but what do you expect for less than £40.00 per head including wine and beer. I certainly wasn't disappointed.
It was something totally different and I would definitely recommend The Medieval Banquet, London!
I recently attended here with a large group of friends celebrating a birthday. I have to say that we had a terrible night. The service was appalling, the food was average and the staff were rude and obnoxious. We couldn't wait to leave.
Whilst fun was supposed to be the order of the evening I would have had more fun staying in and watching An Audience with Coronation Street. If you want to spend your money on a night out then I would personally recommend going somewhere else.
