I have been to the mediterranean cafe on numerous occassions. Every time I have been the food has been excellent, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere very nice and relaxing. I strongly recommend the halibut, it is the nicest I have ever tasted.

We went in this restaurant and were ill two hours later. The food was bad, the atmosphere tensed and awkward.
We had a moussaka, which really did not seem to be one.
My partner took a vegetarian moussaka whereas I took a meat moussaka. The only difference was that I had a tomato sauce above with tiny pieces of meat. After that, it was not good at all, the rice was a bad quality one, as the starters.

Just the waitress was very nice, but otherwise, it was a disaster.

Such a pity because the place is great. But we will never go there again!

Hi, was about to write my own review for Sat 3rd April 2010 & I witnessed the 1 star rating review. I have to say we had a great time & ironically one of us had the Veggie Moussaka (the wife was not ill afterwards). The missus loved it & is already wanting to go back. The atmosphere was excellent, we enjoyed the classical music & the staff were very friendly.

If no-one has tried Med Cafe then I strongly recommend you give this place a try.

Oh, and the prices are very, very reasonable.

I love the Mediterrean Cafe. Always a warm welcome and consistently good food. Great for a mid-week dinner witn mates after work. One of the last family run places in Soho so I try to support it as much as I can.

I had dinner with my parents at The Mediterranean. They do great range of sandwiches and wraps as well as other plates for sharing between two or three. The Mediterranean has decent staff that make you feel comfy too.

My girlfriend and I often eat here after work. The food & staff are excellent and prices are low for this area. For some reason tourists are rarely seen in here too which makes it more interesting. Always playing opera or piano concertos in the background and posters advertising theatre/opera events plaster the walls. GO THERE NOW!
