The place seems pleasing buzzy on arrival. However as things progress the cracks start appearing . The lady who took the order struggled with basic English and we were forced to point at the menu.
Another diner came over to complain about the non-arrival of starters after 30min, not satisfied his party left taking unconnected new arrivals with them.
Dishes arrived one by one over a period of several minutes. The dishes themselves were tasty however woefully short of the main ingredient and bulked out with vegetables and sauce. Six small pieces of chicken hiding under carrot etc.
Overpriced , chaotic and left feeling ripped off !

The Papaya Tree is contemporary in design, and had a general good feel about it. It is obviously popular as it was bustling with life. The staff were more than helpful and recommended a great selection a dishes which were just bursting with flavour.

The Papaya Tree is a place that served exactly what it said it would - the hot dishes were really hot! This is definitely a place well worth a visit with exceptionally flavoured Thai dishes.

Hands down, the Papaya Tree on Kensington High Street is simply divine. Not only is the food unabashedly delicious, but the ambience of the restaurant (it's in a basement) is quaint with a subtle hint of metro-crazy/sexy sophistication. Try the orange tea and you'll wonder why people would ever drink otherwise. Cheers!
