I was told that the food was superb but pricey. It was right in one respect. My starter was so, so. Not as good as most soups in Bangkok - but Bangkok is a long way to travel for a birthday party.

The main course, seabass, turned up cold. Because it was a happy occasion I could not send it back. I think that an £80 a head place (I paid the bill for six - plus a 12.5% service charge) could do better. Avoid.

I'm not sure what category The Providores would come under, but the menu has food from Asia, the Middle East, and all over. Still, Providores do everything so well, who cares?
