Cheap prices and simple decor at The Quad ensure both students and tax payers feel right at home.

The Venue
Situated in the centre of the LSE campus, The Quad club stretches across two levels. The first is a less than adequately sized dance floor, whilst the second provides the majority of the seating. The building is perfectly suited to its target audience of students but offers little out of the ordinary for Londoners used to the capital's swankier clubs.

The Atmosphere
The Quad is predominantly white and blue with good use of lighting making it surprisingly bright for an underground club. Upstairs is furnished with red chesterfield sofas and an assortment of tables and chairs, all of which have seen better days. DJs are housed in a raised booth which is a nice touch but the only bar is small and tucked away in a corner making it a nightmare to get served after 11pm.

The Music
Punters and staff are friendly and easy going, but be prepared to have to fight for your space as the night gets busier. This does however create real energy on the dance floor with everyone just out to have a good time to the eclectic and often inexplicable tracks which are thrown into the mix.

Small wonder then that the emphasis tends to be on dancing rather than conversing with friends. Turn up later in the evening when the festivities really kick off if you like to throw yourself headfirst into a night of clubbing.

The Drink
Prices are amongst the lowest in London, but don’t go expecting anything other than basic beers and spirits - you won't find any magnums of champagne with their own sparklers parading through this club. Drinks are served in plastic cups which lead to the inevitable spillages as you make your way through the club and the empty glasses litter the floor by the end of the night.

The Last Word
Head to this LSE university club safe in the knowledge that the prices are cheap, the music is great and the faces are friendly. As long as you remember that The Quad is a student club with all the dogeared charm that goes with it, you are guaranteed a good night out.
