this is truely a superb and legendary restaurant. elegent and wonderfully special.
though the food is very very overpriced for the small portions, thats expensive restaurants for you! and this is london.

The Ritz is a special place to take a special someone for a special occasion. However the only reason for this is because it's The Ritz. Generally it's somewhat disappointing. The decor is palacial - as much gilt and gold leaf as the eye can manage to bear, the service is excellent with that hint of stuffiness you'd expect.


The food and the atmosphere let it down. Although you read from a menu sent from the heavens it is staid, boring and heavily overpriced. The Michelin-star boys in town are actually cheaper. You can't take away the fact that you're dining at The Ritz but you cannot help feeling this place had it's day about 50 years ago.

The restaurant at The Ritz deserves its legendary reputation. The setting is beautiful and the food simply superb, not to mention the service.

If you really want to give someone a special treat and an unforgettable dining experience, take them to The Ritz. Wonderful.
