The Sea Shell does the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The chips were really crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The batter was nice and thin and the fish fresh. I spoke to the Sea Shell waitress and she told me they get their fish in daily from Billingsgate market. My wife and me will be back again very soon.

Been going to Seashell for about the last 25 years. Used to be a few doors away and much smaller when it was at its best. As usual it was bought out expanded and he went a little downhill.

Where once the street would be lined with flash cars from the punters it is sadly now not the case. It has good days and it has bad days. Again sadly, the bad ones are becoming more frequent and the whole experience has dropped.

On my last visit to the restaurant they even had little ketchup bottles on the tables. Very tacky! Seashell is not the most expensive place to eat at so all in all, for a cheapish meal it's ok. Personaly I'd go there for the takeaway now. Same food less than half the price.

As per the other reviews I also have a local chippy in Euston that is on par but perfect every time! One thing to try in Seashell is the calamri which is cut into chip shapes, and their homemade tartar sauce. Very good!

For years I have been meaning to go to Seashell as it has the reputation of being the best fish and chip shop in London. I finally gave it a try last night (2nd August) and what a disappointment Seashell was!

For a starter I had smoked haddock chowder which consisted of three small chunks of smoked haddock, a couple of sliced, boiled potatoes with a cream sauce. It was watery and not the texture or taste you expect from a chowder. My partner had smoked salmon with trout mousse which was not too bad but we asked for brown bread to go with it which took 10 minutes to arrive and was rye bread!
The real disappointment of Seashell however, was the fish. We had cod and haddock. The fish was not quite cooked and watery but the batter was the worst I have ever had. It was soft, it was not crispy and underneath the fish (skin-side) was not cooked at all. This was dreadful. Seashell is apparently packed out every night (full mainly of tourists) who maybe don't know the difference!
I complained and was given a fobbing off with a 10% discount and the manager did not come to see me. The prices at Seashell are high which would not have bothered me as I wanted a memorable experience. My Chinese takeaway fish and chip shop over the road is infinitely better at a quarter of the cost. Seashell was awful.

I love good fish and chips, and The Seashell is the best fish and chip shop for miles around! Fresh fish in batter that's not too greasy, and light fluffy chips.

Mmmm...delicious. I can't wait to go back to The Seashell!
