When you need to grab a cheap bite to eat in the centre of town, this is the number one place to go for fast service, a varied menu and helpful staff.

The Venue
This little gem is ideally situated in the heart of Soho, a stone’s throw away from the major clubs and bars. This small venue certainly packs in the punters, but it never really feels cramped. This is the perfect meeting place for friends, but single diners shouldn’t be put off – the Stockpot an informal place that makes everyone feel welcome.

The Atmosphere
There is a definite buzz about the place, which lends itself to the small size and central location. This is certainly a popular joint, with most tables taken up each night. Come here if you fancy an informal natter whilst tucking into a classic dish, but it’s definitely not the place to take a posh date!

The Food
This is one of the cheapest places in London to eat and luckily the quality of the food doesn’t suffer because of this. Don’t expect gourmet cuisine, expect good old honest dishes such as chicken escalope with salad, tomato soup, lasagna and chips.

Highly recommended is cheese omelette, which is generous in size with a deliciously cheesy centre. Team this with a house salad or portion of chips and you’ll probably struggle to eat dessert. All this for under a fiver too! If you can make room for dessert then you’ll only have to part with around £1.95 for a couple of scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream. Delicious.

The Drink
There’s a large selection of drinks on offer including beer, wine and spirits. The house red and house white wines are very reasonably priced at about £6.95 a bottle. There’s enough of a variety that you should be able to match your dish to something on the list.

The Last Word
The Stockpot has gained a great reputation for offering good food at very reasonable prices for nearly 15 years. Once you eat here once you’re bound to return again and again.
