Great value for lunchtime meals and i have always been greeted warmly by the staff. I go here around once a week and have had absolutely no problems. Give it a try.
I tried to put no stars or minus but some reason it came up with three stars in the review i have just posted but can't edit.
Please note i give this restaurant the minimum permitted on this website - 1. This is far to high.
There is not the option to give minus stars on this website but if possible I would have done it.
I can't believe anyone would actually dine here.
I went in Tall House with my husband to have lunch this afternoon. The soup we ordered was cold, we sent it back. They returned it afer a minute in the microwave.
I ordered steamed prawn dumplings. I bit into one and it was half warm and half frozen.
The staff didn't seem to give a toss about the fact that this could cause serious food poisoning.
Why bother to have a restaurant if you don't give a toss about food?
This place needs to be closed down.
Went here recently on our anniversary. It is nice inside, and the waiting staff were friendly and attentative... and Chinese also, so we were hopeful that the food would be authentic.
Unfortunately, the food is perfectly acceptable "English" Chinese food. Fine if that's your thing. But it is not for us. Best dish we had was the Sing mai (Singapore noodles) which was tasty, if a little lacking in spice.
(How come no chilli oil!??)As it is local, I'm hopeful that the proprietor will find a way to authenticise at least some of the menu, for those of us looking for real Chinese food. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of months...
The Tall House offers good service from attentive waiters. The starters - fishcake and hot and sour soup were excellent as was the main course - very good yellow bean sauce, not too overpowering, but it was ruined by over-seasoned noodles. I like my food well salted, yet my noodles were very salty. Unfortunately that spoiled an otherwise excellent meal at The Tall House.
I've been to The Tall House a couple of times now and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is really good and on the second visit I was with a group so got to try lots of different dishes.
I'll definitely be back to The Tall House. Very impressive.
