We had a meeting followed by a team Christmas lunch here. It was fantastic. There was enough room for us to have five break-out areas. The staff pulled out all the stops, including providing a cocktail making workshop before lunch which got everyone in the party mood. The food was really good too and affordable. If you are looking for a great venue for a team building day - look no further. Brilliant value and a great atmosphere

I love this place, it has gotten better and better with time. It has the best cocktails by far in Islington and they are 2 for 1 on Thursdays and it always brings in a good crowd.



Nice big sofas and a good yet very low ceiling DJ bar downstairs, I think it is open down there most nights but I'm not sure. I know it is always packed out on a weekend.



The food is always really tasty although it can be hard to get a table at times it is definitely worth trying! The roasts are really big and also 2 for 1 on Sundays, it's like a 2 for 1 palace! 2 for 1 lunch, roasts and cocktails, a dream come true!



Really good service and friendly staff who know their stuff without being pretentious cocktail bartenders. Check it out for yourself!

The Winchester took me by surprise to be honest - from the outside it looks quite different from what you get inside!
It is actually quite a big space at the back and has a downstairs which gets very busy at the weekends.



The food deals are great - I go regularly now for lunch because it's 2 for 1 which is such a bargain. Not only that but the menu changes all the time so it never gets boring. The roasts are huge and great value for money at 12.50 for two. However, I can't stress to you enough the need to book for a Sunday lunch as it always has a queue for tables!



The Cocktails are great - with some classics and some creations from the bar staff - and there's always weird and wonderful fruits on show on the Thursday 2 for 1 cocktail night.



The Winchester's only downfall is that it has no outdoor space, but it does have built in window ledge seating for the summer and a couple of small tables out front for warmer days but you do have to run to catch the outdoor seating!



Overall I'd say this is my favourite place in Islington.

I thought The Winchester was nice if a little too like the Elk in The Woods just up the road but the cocktail menu was good and the food I had was good quality pub food. I'd say The Winchester would be great to visit on a lazy summer's afternoon, if we ever get one that is.
