Boring food, unatentive service, shoddy wine list for Mayfair, needs passion and drive from an up and coming chef.

Unfortunately Time and Space has made the classic mistakes that a team with no experience makes when trying to setup a restaurant in central london. Food is lousy and lacks any attention to detail. Hiring a catering company rather than getting an in-house team shows immediately; food is bland, wine menu boring. Clock is ticking on this one I suspect.

This place goes straight on my favourite list. Great food, friendly staff and dinner for two for less than £100 including service. That included Oysters, Rib-eye and a fab chocolate fondant. Decent wine and the most stylish water decanters in London.

Try it.

Time and Space is a really great experience - beautiful decor with a mixture of modern bar, old library restaurant and elegant table settings. The food is excellent - modern British with very high quality ingredients, good wine list, and extremely attentive, friendly staff. The price is good for the upmarket area and the atmosphere feels special because of the heritage of the Institution itself. Well worth a visit

I had a fantastic meal here on Saturday. The food was excellent - modern British/European- and came in generous portions. The chips especially were fantastic. The staff were helpful and friendly, without being over attentive. The wine was also very good, and reasonably priced.
The setting (in the former library of the Royal Institution) is also gorgeous. The tables (unusually) are a good size and not too close together.
The small bar next door also does good cocktails.
