A haven to families and clubbers alike, this 24 hour Farringdon diner is certainly a find.

The Venue
An innocuous sign hides the wonders within Tinseltown, as you walk down black and white parquet steps into a subterranean cave, reminiscent of the Fifties era, with plush green booths, walls papered with Hollywood stars, and a clientele ranging from clubbers on a pick me up trip at 5.30 am, to families at 7pm. Soft pop blasts from the speakers, and plasma screens broadcast the latest in music videos.

The Atmosphere
Refreshingly relaxed, the staff at Tinseltown are pleasant and efficient. Thanks to the lighting in the booths, the restaurant offers an intimate dining experience for diners which will certainly come as a welcome relief if you decide to visit Tinseltown after several hours cutting some rug on the dancefloor.

The Food
Catering for a broad range of tastes, you can purchase a Mexican, Chinese or Italian dish, alongside a medley of burgers and omelettes. Even picky eaters will be at a loss to complain over the selection, as they also provide a healthy eating and a vegetarian menu. Servings are generous and accompanied by an array of sauces provided by the helpful waitresses. At under £6 for an average main, it will leave your pockets comfortably full too.

The Drink
Old style milkshakes served in long frosted glasses and mixed with a variety of popular confectionary is how this diner gained its reputation. Choosing between the premium shakes and the VIP shakes is a difficult job, but somebody has to do it, and once you choose your concoction of choice you watch the servers grind down the chocolate (or fruit) of choice, and whip it up into a frothy fantasy. Recommended is Buffy the Vampire Shaker, Cadburys Dairy Milk Bubbly chocolate melded with milk and ice, or the Shake-zilla, a monstrous affair, with layers of whipped cream for the adventurous and very hungry.

The Last Word
Tinseltown is a great place to let out your inner child, with milkshakes to die for and a City location open around the clock.
