Milkshakes are never blended properly, there seems to be more ice cream than the chocolate bar itself. Ive been to two branches, the farringdon branch which is very humid from the moment you walk in, and the gants hill branch which has air that is a bit more easier to breathe. The food is over priced, paying around £8 for a burger and if you want cheese, onions, pickles etc, you're charged an extra £1 per topping. Basically its a Halal TGI Fridays.

Terrible. Gave it one star as it is not possible to do zero.

My best friend wanted to go for her birthday. We went to the Farringdon Branch. There are security guards on the door and it is open till 3am. Be warned that all your party must be there to be seated. The atmosphere was buzzing and loads of music and happy customers which are mainly very young crowd of students as the halls of residents for city uni is near by. It was the first visit for myself and my partner. I had checked out their website and also called inadvance for advice. We were seated very quickly for a saturday night. The waitress Lena was very nice and friendly. We had the large VEGE combo and BBQ wings, main course my friend and her husband had the Mix grill platter - loads of fresh cooked meat, I choose the Empire Chicken Burger which was huge!!!

My partner had the lamb chops which were very tender. Lena even asked us how would be like the meat cooked which was very professional. We had told Lena it was my friends birthday and we pre ordered the ice cream dessert. They had a video screen on with birthday wishes, music and the ice cream dessert and the golden Oscar. It was really cool and we all sang happy birthday. We then all shared the Waffle. It was so fresh and yummy. 4 persons with Vat total was £107. It was a great evening and will definately come again. Great concept and very nice staff.

I used to visit this place a lot last year, it started off well but the standards rapidly dropped towards the middle of 2009 to now. There seems to be new management in and a new load of staff waiting the tables, all of which who struggle to speak English well and they often mix up the orders. The food is slightly overpriced for what you get and once you get past the novelty of the shakes the place will lose its appeal. The interior decor is nice but is starting to get a little worn. The restrooms are terrible. They will also force a service charge onto parties with 10people or more and may expect payment before you have even been served a meal/drinks. The door-staff seem friendly enough.

Ok , this restaurant has been here for ages, and has recently been done up. Service is good, milkshakes are excellent.

Don't compare with plastic food of McDonald's. The food is top notch and reasonably priced.

It won't break the bank and variety of food is good. Consider the decor and late opening times I think its good value for money.

Let's get one thing straight. This is not a restaurant.

The people who have posted before me were clearly disappointed as they went with family/friends expecting to have some sort of TGI Friday experience.

I hate to tell you but you went to the wrong place. Tinseltown sells excellent milkshakes and desserts.

Everything else (or at least everything that I've tried) is pretty rubbish. Everyone knows that so if you're silly enough to go there for the food then you get what you deserve.

Service is awful and the decor is grubby - it's an idea with incredible potential that's been executed poorly.

That said, Tinseltown is great as long as you know what you're getting. By all means, venture there if you're feeling peckish after a night out (cheap taxi fare from Leicester Square) or you fancy a milkshake in the middle of a night.

Just don't go there for a proper meal because you will be sorely disappointed.

i went there with my whole family expecting something different to usual.

for starters the fake ass bouncer told us to rudely wait outside and literally there were so many empty tables! so dunno wot that was about.

The bouncer looked realy dumbb like he didn't have a clue and then let us in one by one like we were entering a strip club.

eventually when we all did go in the restaurant looks like a big American toilet, as the deco is extremely poor and to make it worse all the tables and floor were sticky.

I realy do think that the management is realy poor as the '' night manager '' was only interested in siting at the door on a stool along side the dum bouncer perving on all the girls.

The staff cudnt even speak or understand English so when i was ordering the waiter realy didn't know wot i was saying.

to make it worse as some one mentioned earlier the steaks were something out off Iceland freezer.

to make the restaurant realy tacky we were told by the waiter we will be charged two pounds to have a bottle of mayo on our table but the ketchup is free! gee thanks dumbass!!

they have also changed the menu to last time and its definitely no VALUE AT ALL for your money.

this place should just be a milkshake bar as its is FAR from a restaurant its extremely disgusting.!!

CRAP SERVICE RUBBISH FOOD AND A REALY CLULESS AND CARELESS MANAGER. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME.

Horrendous. You'd be much better off going to McDonald's - and at three times the price of a McD's, you literally would be better off.

The food was nowhere near as palatable as McD's (and that's saying something!). Food aside, the decor and atmosphere was something else.

We went with the whole American Diner image in mind (jukeboxes, neon, chequered decor, lots of chrome) and was sorely disappointed to find a darkened room (think dingy Student Union bar) with a couple of plasmas dotted about and staff who barely grunted when taking your order.'Poo-Town'!

How funny that ALL of the reviews below show that it is shockingly bad.... because it is.

Most people said that they were not impresses with the food- me and my boyfriend didn't even get that far.

I took him there as a birthday treat last night, the website looking all colourful and inviting.

I had emailed the place a week before asking if we could book and what time to get there. They said no and get there about 7pm.

When we arrived we were put onto a table that looked like it belonged to a local cafe and all of the booths were reserved (but empty- so much for me not booking)

There were hardly anyone there except a few groups of loud teenagers- its was my boyfriends 26th birthday.

The decor is drab and the menus were all grease stained and falling apart. We thought we would order a milkshake- which as just a McFlurry guys.

And at £8.50 for two drinks not even worth the hassle. I took one look at my fella's face and said come on lets go.

We ended up finding a lovely Indian resteraunt in the Angel.DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I half ignored the bad reviews and seriuosly wished I hadnt.x

I went to Tinsel town farringdon with my boyfriend on sunday evening. He'd apparently heard it was a nice place. The approach at the stairs was enough to put me off. It looked a little dingy but we thought we'd give it a go. Besides some of the best food isnt always in the nicest looking places!

I was a little worried when we saw the table next to us leaving half eaten burgers but we ordered anyway- the beef and cheese burger..and it came after about 5 mins..suspiciously quick! and boy didnt the food look suspicious.

The meat looked like a pastie you buy at some cheap frozen food supermarket..and tasted even worse! i only had a miniscule of a bite before leaving my entire meal uneaten!! it was horrible! my boyfriend who normally eats through anything also ate only half his food!

it was completely unpalatable and i agree with the reviewer who says Mcdonalds food tastes better. I can see where they are going with the 50's decor but the place is in serious need of refurbishing. They do have alot of flavours of milkshakes & i thought id try one..it was ok...i see why this restaurant/diner is open 24hrs..the food is probably only edible after youve had a few alcoholic drinks and everything tastes great.

Believe me I'm not one to write bad reviews but this place should seriously stop serving what they call food..especially for the price theyre charging! Someone mentioned Tinsel town is not a good place to go to if youre on a diet..but actually i think its the perfect place because believe me youll end up eating nothing (if the burgers are anything to go by).

I went to the Tinsel Town restaurant in Leicester. It had to be the worse food I have ever eaten. I had a Cajun chicken sandwich which was bland and tasteless, my wife had the spaghetti bolognaise which was so bad I spat it out. BE WARNED DON’T EAT THE FOOD JUST GO FOR THE SHAKES

Now I don't claim to be a food whizz, but I do know what constitutes good food, and what I found in Tinseltown certainly wasn't it.The food was cold and as always, it was just lovely to see the fat dripping off of your burger onto your hand- mmm. What then makes this place so attractive? Apparently it's the milshakes. Of course I was to busy fighting a never ending battle trying to get the thick pile of smoosh through the straw, to really take notice of the taste. At the base of this fascinating experience was appaulling service. One hour waiting time for dissapointing food (when the restaurant is not even at it's busiest) is enough to make you want to eat your hat instead, and indeed, you may be better off doing so. The food served simply cries out 'HEART ATTACK.' Where are the healthy options? Well apparently they flew right out the window along with my sanity. The hat appears to be a much more nutritionally sound proposition. To top off the evening, it was evident that my temper wasn't the only thing through the roof. The food is ridiculously overpriced. Now before you go thinking that this is some cheap reviewer, I don't mind paying high prices for good food. I don't mind paying extremely high prices for great food. I do however mind, paying for food that isn't worth paying for. This is certainly one place that I will never visit again. To have had better dining experiences at McDonalds is to know that something is terribly wrong. Nuff said.

I have visited Tinsle town on a number of occasions but last night was the last time.

I ordered a steak costing £13.99 and recived a microwaved dinner from Iceland.

I was appalled that the establishment would find that adequate enough to send out to a customer for that price.

I really think they should stick to making Milkshakes the one star given is too much but i dont have the option to choose no stars.

Tinseltown does great milkshakes but I was upset when I went there for a milkshake on Sunday at 4am only to find the cook sleeping downstairs. He said the Tinseltown kitchen was closed. I thought it was open 24 hours?

Not impressed with the food at Tinseltown at all, but the milkshakes were amazing! Loads of different flavours including Twix, Mars and Snickers.

Delicious but very naughty! Don't go to Tinseltown if you're on a diet!
