A friend of mine clued me into this place while I was visiting London. I had a really good time.

Service was great, and the food was great. I will definitely be returning next time I am down here. The food was terrific, I had the Pan fried Foie Gras for starter and the Slow Roast Pork Belly for main.

Both Dishes were really well made and presented and tasted terrific.

Well Done Tom's Kitchen.

I work right by Somerset House and have been waiting for Tom's Kitchen to open since they shut the old Admiralty Restaurant.
It's taken around 3 months to complete the refurbishment but the changes are amazing and definitely worth the wait.
The old fashioned bar and turquoise seating have gone (thank goodness) and have been replaced by a funky bar and very comfortable booths.
I came for lunch the other day and the service and food was great.
The menu is exactly the same as Tom's Kitchen Chelsea (which i love as well) but I noticed that the prices are slightly cheaper at Somerset House, so all the more reason to come.

I will be returning and bringing friends very soon for dinner - they have to try the 7 hour lamb. Delicious!

Make triple sure you are booking the restaurant you think you are booking!

I phoned the "Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House" phone line on Saturday lunchtime to book a table for Saturday evening. The reservations line answered saying "Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House". I double checked that I was actually talking to someone from "Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House" as I knew there were multiple Tom's Kitchens and multiple Tom's venues at Somerset House. I then booked a table for the evening.

When we turned up in the evening we got to the door and were told that Tom's Kitchen wasn't open on Saturdays and Sundays. We were then told to try Tom's Terrace next door. Low and behold they'd booked us in there instead.

Tom's terrace really isn't much more than a glorified burger bar. The a la carte menu only has four mains to choose from. And there really is no view over the Thames, despite the location. A cynic would say that they are using underhand tactics like this to fill the Terrace. They are obviously lacking something as at 8pm on a Saturday night there were only three other tables filled.

Be careful when booking online as well. As of 1st August 2010 when you go to the homepage for Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House and choose to book online it takes you to the online booking system for Tom's Kitchen in Chelsea.

Tom Aikens needs to step in and sort this operation out quickly is it's seriously dragging his reputation through the mud.
