Do not go to this restaurant if you expect fine dining, because the food is the wrong side of mediocre at fairly extravagant prices.

The menu is very limited with only four main courses and if you are a veggie, forget it. There were four of us and we sampled 75% of the mains menu and all were barely adequate, especially so for the £13 beef burger. If we were asked once if we wanted more wine (we had three bottles) we were asked a dozen times. It became annoying.

The desserts ran to seven choices all of which I would hazard a guess were straight off the back of a lorry. The confection masquerading as Eton Mess was particularly vile; sickly sweet with unidentified pieces of a petrochemical-like derivative, posing as meringue.

But, if you accept that the venue beside the Thames is worth paying for, and it is very pleasant, then that is what you are indeed paying for; certainly not the food.
