I had a really great night at Truc Vert last night! The food was really tasty and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Will be going back!

yes- they need to get their service sorted out!Obviously the staff at this place have lost site of the fact that the customers are there to pay for the food.

I was turned down for a simple request for a condiment because of the "rules" that dictate when they could pull this out of the refrigerator.

Given this was not an especially demanding request, it was almost laughable. The male manager refused to make any attempt to accomodate us or apologise - what kind of management is that?

The wait staff were equally unwilling. It's unfortunate because it's a nice setting, great location and the food was nothing amazing, but nice enough.

But with so many places to choose from in this city, it's hard to justify going back when the staff is so out of touch with meeting its customer's needs.

The reviews on this website seem pretty out of date to me. I lunched at Truc Vert today and while the service wasn't rushed no one could say it was slow. The charming young French staff rushed around serving a room full of contented customers. I was early enough to bag an outside table - only came for coffee (v good) but stayed for lunch because the dishes being brought out looked so colourful and delicious.



Prices aren't cheap, but neither is importing the freshest cheeses and salami. The wife and I thought the food was delicious - not at all messed about it, just how we like it. And as for whether it's French or not well, Bok choi isn't exactly traditional fare in southern France, but I think the approach to the decor, the service and the way the food is cooked - like the best homemade food should be, using good ingredients and wasting nothing - is very French, irrespective of where your spuds actually grew. Will definitely be going back to Truc Vert if only to sample the drool-worthy wine list.

I go to Truc Vert for weekend breakfasts with my friend quite often. The food is lovely and the atmosphere second to none, but the service doesn't match these high standards I'm afraid.

We're often kept waiting for up to 40 minutes (for scrambled eggs on toast!) and this needs to be sorted out. I keep going back to Truc Vert as it's a lovely little place, but I do hope they do something about this service soon.
