I was pretty worried as I had booked a surprise 30th birthday party here and then saw these reviews! I spoke to Tommy, the Manager and he assured me that we would be taken care of and I have to say they really did make a big effort. The staff were very friendly and attentive and our party was excellent. The food was fine (perhaps not amazing but certainly not terrible either) and we had a great time. For a karaoke party it was great, we ate and then sang our hearts out for 3 hours!

What a horrible experience. I had made a number of previous visits and thought it was a good restaurant so this time decided it was the venue of a special outing.

To start with I had to ask for a clean set of chopsticks as the ones set on the table had residue on them - they were replaced by a waiter who almost threw them on the table at me without a word!

The food was a mix of cold, lukewarm - only the rice which was stodgy was really hot. The sesame toast was minuscule and burnt, the chicken satay was dry and tough, however the spring rolls were scalding hot which almost compensated for the cold seaweed.
The crispy duck was very dry and barely warm, the pancakes were just about warm enough to start with.

There was quite a wait between courses even though there seemed to be enough staff and it was not very busy. The portions were not particularly generous either.

The staff seemed more intent on clearing up than providing a service. I have never been so rushed - if we hadn’t lingered we would have been in and out in 45 mins - I wouldn’t mind if I was grabbing a bite and paying Wong Kei prices but this was meant to be a special occasion.

We will definitely NOT be using this place again and I strongly recommend that you try ANY of the other restaurant in London Bridge, of which there are quite a few.

The restaurant looked very stylish and lovely, however the food was lukewarm and too salty and the service was not good. Our waitress was quite rude and unapproachable.

I would not recommend the restaurant.

AWFUL experience and AWFUL food!!!!!Food was lukewarm and bland. The hot and sour soup and extremely sour. Sweet corn soup was extremely runny and tasted like salt water.Rice and noodle dishes were dry and tasteless. Ordered an array of meat dishes including sizing beef, chicken in green peppers and black bean sauce, chilli beef. All either extremely salty or bland. Had to drink a lot of soft drinks and water to quench the salty taste. I know the Chinese restaurants are not renowned for their friendly service - but there should be some understanding that if you are charging high prices and marketing yourself as a top restaurant then you do have some responsibility to offer a decent level of service and edible food. All our dishes arrived at the same time 25 mins after ordering - and the bill arrived without asking – I feel as though we were pushed out the door. Michelle Williams

After reading John Reynold's account of Tuli, I can not help but write a review about this dreadful restaurant and my experience. As you walk in Tuli, the place is tastefully decorated. However that is the only good thing about it. Food and service was the worse I have ever experienced. My girlfriend is Chinese so we go to more than our fair share of restaurants. We normally eat at Mayflower but fancied a change. What a let down. The service wasn't good and they became even worse when we sent food back - twice! The spare ribs were cold and had no meat on them. They were the worst we've ever had. We sent them back to ask for warm ones and the waiter was really upset that we had the audacity to send food back. They microwaved them! The fish was awful and I think we ate less than 1/4 of it - at £22/fish it should be good. The veggies that came with garlic were inedible. It was ridiculous there was so much garlic it wasn't right. We just left the veggies. We didn't see another waiter until the end of our 'meal' and that was after waved and waved for him to come over. When he came we asked for the bill and to take the veggies off as they were awful. He told us we should have told him earlier. Well, had he came over to see us earlier then we would have done. We spoke to the manager and he was so rude and arrogant. We definitely will not be returning to Tuli and I advice you all who is reading this not to think about eating here otherwise it will disappoint you and ruin our evening.

Disgusting food and service.
We spent over £150 for just food between 4 people which included duck, rice, beef, wontons and ribs. The quality was horrible and inedible. The portions were tiny. Most of the dishes were luke warm. Meat dishes were rubbery and stale and the vegetables were old and without flavour. In addition the garlic and the oyster sauce were watery. I can honestly say that there was not one redeeming dish out of the 9 that were ordered.

Service was rude. When we requested that our food was too cold to eat they returned them microwaved. Manager was not a lot better than waiter. Seem to worry about waiting around for us to pay than waiting to service us.
There must have been other people in there who was not happy with there food. why do they remain silent.

Pretty terrible.
I don't normally write reviews but I have to say this is one of the worst restaurants Ive been to. I love Chinese food and thought i try this with my family.

Spent about £35 per person which excludes drinks. It was a waste of my money. Food was either too salty or too sweet. Sweet corn soup was very watery and bland. Ordered their special rice and noodles dishes, however there was very little meat in the portions. Pork, beef and chicken dishes were very small so had to order more to compensate for the small dises therefore ended up very pricy.

Will never set foot in this place.

Service was non-existent, had to wait 10 minutes to be seated (and it was not even busy). Staff unfriendly and din't seem to want to be there.

Avoid, avoid, avoid this place if you want good food

First appearance, Tuli has nice decor but appearances are deceiving. Had dinner with a group of my business associates.

Service was extremely slow, very impolite and throughout the entire evening not one smile from the staff.
Was hoping that food will make up for the rude slow service.

However unfortunately food very disappointing and tasteless. It came out cold. I have tried many Chinese restaurants and this is by far the worse experience I have ever encountered. Don't waste your money here.

i absolutely agree.
staff were very unfriendly and didn't seem to know what they were doing.

the food was either too salty or too sweet. i thought the chef had a bad night when my family ate there but clearly this is not the case.

I went there as we had read about the lunch buffet, when we got there the sign was outside saying lunch for 7.50. however inside when we asked the waiter, he said we was too late it finished at 3, though there were no time limits and we had sat in our seats at 2.55pm! we went to order and found that a dish cost around £8, but does not include any noodles or rice, so your automatically obliged to spend £7 for the chepeast plain noodles per person. We ordered two cokes costing £1.80 each and when they came they were small tumblers of coke, no where near a small bottle let alone the 250ml i could have bought else where.

I asked the waiter to point me to where the noodles were on the menu, i got a mere waggle at some area on the menu, in the end i just asked her to add some plain noodles to the order.

Food came, it was okay, portions are not generous though and the taste was not amazing, you could probably get the same food at your local take away.

total bill came to £30 pound as they automatically make you pay a service charge. So we paid £30 though we shared a plate of noodles and orderd one dish each and got tumbler glasses for coke.

I am not going to this restaurant again, its a rip off, service is not great, it wasnt filled with customers and i can see why. there is dim ti round there corner or even your local chinese would be better!

I ate here with a group of friends for dinner and had a lovely time. The restaurant does teppanyaki and some BBQ food as well which was really nice, freshly cooked in front of you and all included in the price of the buffet.

found this place by accident on a friday night. great decor, outstanding food for a buffet - including all the favourites (roast duck pancakes, dim sum, egg fried rice, sweet and sour pork balls, lemon chicken, etc etc etc) and more, all of great quality, not what you'd expect for a buffet place. good (if basic) sushi also available, as well as uncooked food to select and take to a chef. desserts were out of this world - amazing jellies and toffee apple banana and profiteroles and cakes... excellent attention to detail in the food and the decor and the staff. only downside: chinese tea was a teabag affair. couldn't recommend tuli highly enough. go there!
