-New potatoes practically raw
-Steak overcooked
-Vegetables had to be ordered separately so they cost £7 extra for two people (already paying £20 each for a main meal) which is ridiculous
-Too loud to talk
-The gratuity was included on the card payment with no option to decline it, even though it was 'optional'
-Cost over £60 for two mains, two drinks and one shared dessert (no starters or wine) which is unacceptable considering the quality of the food
-Basically a complete rip-off and the worst restaurant experience I've ever had - DO NOT GO!
Went there last Sunday.
Nothing to complain about. Excellent prosecco and a very well cooked meal.
Can recommend the slow cooked lamb neck. Delicious.
No complaint's about the personnel.
We had a great evening en will definitely return to tutons.
Appalling in every sense. The service was shoddy - they kept forgetting to get our drinks, and twice got the order wrong when they did finally turn up - waiting 30 minutes for 2 drinks is entirely unacceptable.
And then the food - we waited approximately 40 minutes for our entrées, and when they insisted they had to move us inside at 10pm before serving it [when the outside seating didn't close til 10.30pm], we shifted and it eventually arrived...luke warm and hardly digestible. It was steak & chips - steak like rubber & over-salted chips...and then came the price tag...£140 for one starter, 2 entrees and 10 drinks...what a con.
I would not recommend this awful restaurant to anyone.
Despite many waiters available we had to find our table alone on Saturday at 6pm. When asked for orders, we were forced to have meals to get a drink first, although other people were having theirs outside.
Popped into Tutton on Saturday 19th April just for a drink. Service was awful - even though the bar staff saw me standing there waiting to be served they continued talking for 5 mins until i had to walk to the end of the bar that they were standing then place my order. I ordered a rum and coke which cost me EIGHT pound!! (Ridiculous price!) and a martini and lemonade. Total cost of round = £12! Thats for two drinks! I had to remortgage my house for another round!(Joke)
Arrived at Tutton's Brasserie and was seated fairly quickly outside. The menu looked pretty good, but the service was non-existent. We waited over 15 minutes without anybody arriving to take even our drinks order, this despite there being plenty of staff about and other customers around us being served.
We asked and were told somebody would be over shortly. Eventually we gave up and explained to the supervisor/manager that we weren't prepared to wait any longer. She didn't even apologise - she just half-heartedly said, "Ok". Definitely will not be returning to Tutton's Brasserie.
The Tuttons Brasserie is a great find in Covent Garden because of the reasonable prices and excellent service. I'd definitely recommend Tuttons Brasserie.
Didn't find the food as Tuttons Restaurant and Brasserie as good as I was expecting. It's a nice place and the atmosphere is friendly but I found my meal slightly disappointing which was a shame.
I'll probably give Tuttons Restaurant and Brasserie another go though, as I had an enjoyable evening there.
