Its a shame that this person felt to write their comment about the Union staff. Altho i must admit the manager does come across as brash and sometimes rude, being a regular customer I've come to know that Amanda [the GM] has a very distinctive style of delivery. sometimes brash, mostly honest and open. to the point that sometimes what she says may make her appear silly, but always sincere and attentive [more so when i book - arranges great tables for me]. She has always shown the greatest respect for me and my guests, and ALWAYS tried her best to get us into her restaurant, i suspect because she knows she can have fun with us, being a lively fun bunch that enjoy a cheeky yet professional maitre d. Amanda never fails to make us laugh and her staff are equally exuberant and lively all offering a different aspect to the fantastic customer service that we've come to expect of the Union.

Especially the stern but [extremely efficient- maybe too much so! ordered coffees before our desert!] Irish waitress, that ALWAYS makes us laugh, but seems to berate her team mates sometimes a little too publicly! however fantastic at her job, for sure. pleasure to be served by.

The restaurant is quite a female lead venue, in fact quite a few stunning ladies, and if not stunning then at the very least entertaining with humour and panache, especially Amy and [now] Georgie, the new recruit that always seems to be smiling for us. Although there are a few male members of staff that deserve a note, especially a waiter called Ben, who, every time we turn up seems to be genuinely enthusiastic and attentive to our needs- he seems very at ease and comfortable with us, and everyone! Early on in the night, when on his own seems to carry a charm and energy throughout the whole restaurant. It's a shame that he's since been moved to the bar, we [guests included] thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humour and genuine commitment to our satisfaction, clearly in his element. - Report
