Having made a reservation on Squaremeal (SM) to eat at Union Square a couple of hours before the concert my friends and I were attending and also having had an email confirming our reservation you can imagine our disbelief when we turned up to be told that there was no reservation! I asked to speak with the manager who quite frankly, couldn't give a damn and told me that all links between Union Square and SM ended over a year ago and that I shouldn't of been able to book through SM and that I should have telephoned Union Square direct - this I pointed out is what I tried to do first but constantly the telephone rang out which is why I ended up on SM.
I listened to what the manager said but by no way accepted it or that it made any sense to me so then asked for a table as we were expecting our last friend to arrive in from abroad but was told that the restaurant was busy and he couldn't seat us but maybe we could go on a reserve list which "might" mean we could have a table in an hour which then wouldn't have left us with enough time to eat before the concert.
I find this totally unacceptable and quite frankly a farce given that I had received my confirmation email which again meant absolutely nothing at all to the manager I saw.
IF Union Square had in fact, ceased trading with Squaremeal then surely it would make sense for Squaremeal to take all links relating to Union Square off their website but maybe that's me asking for too much.
All in all, a complete and utter shambles and thank you Zizi for coming to the rescue!
I'm a really lazy cook (don't cook a lot) so a few weeks ago on a Sunday myself and my boyfriend came here for a Roast.
Amazing, Filling, Juicy, Tender, Perfect I couldn't have asked for more, although it can be a bit dark in there it feels nice, like your at home, and you forget all around you,
good place to go!
Dreadful place.
Have happily dined at various places at the O2 but we went to this place as there was no queue and we could get a table - now I know why. Was told there was a 20min wait for food, which was going to be fine. However, 45mins later and after having to ask a few times where our food was we were told there had been some confusion and the food we ordered wasn't available.
We had to leave and go to the show at the O2 without eating as we didn't have time to wait any longer for some different food or go somewhere else.
They only refunded us for the food, no refund for our drinks as a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience and poor customer service we received. Alot of people who go to the restaurants around the O2 are often going to a show, so most places know you often have a certain amount of time in which to dine and are really good at accommodating that when you tell them.
Will never go back to this place.
Without doubt the wrost meal I've ever had.
the first course was just appauling, and then when the ice-cream was clearly off and shouldn't be served the staff just grinned at us!!
avoid even if you have not eaten for a year.
Avoid at all costs. The food was overpriced and awful, the service was abysmal, they gave us the wrong order and then tried to bill us for items we hadn't ordered.
They then had the cheek to add 12.5% service charge when they should have been compensating us for their incompetence.
I don’t normally write reviews but I feel it necessary to warn people about this place, no wonder it was just about the only place at the O2 that didn’t have a queue outside.
We had a great night yesterday! The drink at bar is amazing and friendly staff!!!
had an awesome night the other week when came to see KOL, bar had a really good buzz with decent music and good crowd.
The bar was heaving however did not have to wait so long for drinks, had some wings from the menu waited a little bit of time but that's okay considering how busy it was.
All in all great place, sorry for the people who did not have a good time, some people just look for something to complain about. Keep up the good work, see ya wed for NIN
simply awful in every respect, presumably the reason the 'kitchen' closes at 9pm on a Saturday night !! -
hopefully the business will fold very soon...
... on a positive note, it is located only 10 yards from other fabulous restaurants that serve food 'til 11.30pm.......
Absolutely dreadful, from useless staff to over priced inedible food!
They 'buy in' their food, so nothing is prepared on site, just 'cooked'.
Mains come with minute garnish, so all sides are extra - even fries/salad with burger and cost £3.50 each.
5 of us paid £140 for one course each (plus sides) and one bottle of their cheapest wine. We did not pay service charge, it took an hour for the food to arrive, and then they forgot some sides.
All diners complained as they left and refused to pay service charge. It should close!
Its about time o2 Arena had a new bar place to go to.
Love the drinks very nice place, very convenient the manager and staff are most excellent.
