Val Taro is one of my favourite restaurants in the west end. Very good quality food (excellent steaks, pasta, fish), very reasonably priced wine (unlike some of the rip off prices in Town) and always a very friendly welcome and service. Nothing is to much trouble for them. If you want something off menu or added to your dish.
I love the place and would recommend it to anyone from prince to pauper.

I've been going to Val Taros since it opened. The food is great value and the service very personable. I find it a great venue for Business lunches, meetings with friends and a very romantic place to dine with someone special.

I've just been to this place again, and cannot understand why no one is reading my reviews (judging by how quiet it was)! It's such a fantastic, central location, the food is excellent, the welcome very warm and it's brilliant value. Please try it, you won't be disappointed!

I visited Val Taro twice recently. The first time in the evening where we sat in the atmospheric downstairs Wine Bar and, after the complimentary nibbles, had a simple plate of pasta (excellent value at £7.00). Although it was quiet, the wine bar has sections so it doesn't feel sad. The 60s music was at just the right level for conversation.

The second time was to the main restaurant for a birthday lunch. Again, it was quiet, but the service friendly and attentive without being fussy. Again, food was excellent with huge, value for money portions.

Bearing in mind the location (mid way between buzzing Leicester and Trafalgar Squares) why is Val Taro so quiet. It doesn't deserve to be!!

I am a great fan of Val Taros. I take all my friends here - they must think I only know one place to go to in London. It's very cosy and the food is great (I recommend the chicken pieces in balsamic vinegar).

Go to the wine bar downstairs as this is the most charming part. My dad has been going to this restaurant for seven years now (he works around the corner) and Luciano greets our family as if we were old friends.
A gem!

We had booked a table at Val Taros and when we arrived we were welcomed immediately and given complimentary olives, crisps and nuts which were constantly replenished!

The service was excellent and very attentive. The menu was varied with lots of choice for vegetarians. The food was really good and even though there was a large group of us everything arrived at the same time with no problems at all.

The atmosphere itself was very relaxed and informal which was exactly what we wanted. All in all it was a great night at Val Taros!

Val Taros is a great Italian place with a family feel to it. It is nice and relaxed, and always friendly. I haven't been to central London for a couple of years now, but this was a good place to know. A three course meal at Val Taros is no rush and great value.

Val Taro's is a trattoria with friendly staff serving mainly Italian style food. They had a commendation from The Times back in the 80s and I have been a regular visitor since.

We've recommended Val Taro's to many friends and family and all have enjoyed the experience. Good food, reasonable price, centrally located.

Val Tar is a gem. Very Friendly staff. Excellent value. Traditional Italian fare at reasonable prices. Fresh food cooked to order. Reservations not necessary. Great location near Leicester Square. Don't overlook the desert cart. Fun wine bar on the lower level.
