I visited today and was amazed to get a seat on a Friday lunchtime. A few items were crossed out on the menu since my last visit, things I would have ordered but anyway….settled on a chicken curry thing. It was putrid, so I pushed it side and was surprised when passing servers didn’t enquire. I eventually stopped one and sent it back. No offer to order something else was forthcoming and no bill came, so I finished my drink, went to the open kitchen/counter and asked to pay for the drink. After a brief 'we're confused' charade, the lady owner appeared and wanted full payment. Suspicions aroused by the crossed out menu items were justified - this place must be under new management, the old people were much nicer.
I again offered to pay for the drink only - this was refused, and I didnt have the exact money for the drink so told them I would not pay anything. I left the establishment. I got as far as Charing Cross Road and......I will leave the rest you your imagination.

Im not an unreasonable person, I've refused to pay before and I'll do the same thing again. If more Londoners did likewise we'd be rid of these sorts of places.
