Having arranged a surprise meal for my mother's 60th birthday, I have nothing but positive words to say about the Watermill restaurant.

The restaurant handled the booking for 14 people very well. They nicely decorated the restaurant and were accommodating with last minute changes in the food order.

The food at the Watermill is delicious and very reasonably priced. The menu is varied, but not too extensive - a good balance.

The service was attentive and we were made to feel very welcome.

Overall we had a wonderful evening without a bad word to say.
I would definitely visit the Watermill again.

I wrote a review concerning the Watermill restaurant some while ago. My comments were all positive. I didn't realize at the time I would have cause to post yet another review. I believed that I had said all that there was to say. However, I was very much mistaken.

Last week my husband and I took a friend to the Watermill for an evening meal. It was a lovely evening and I felt very proud that I had introduced our friend to a restaurant that he clearly found most impressive.

The service was as usual first class. Warm and friendly. Everything possible was done to make the evening perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff who have that magic touch whereby everyone sitting at every table in the restaurant is made to feel special.

Ronnel the chef is a culinary artist. The presentation of his dishes cannot be faulted. As for the food. Brilliant.

Our guest, who dines out regulary, said it has been a very long time since his has eaten such good food in such a relaxing atmosphere, and that he would have no hesitation in recommending the Watermill to family and friends.

Next weekend he is taking us to the Watermill. Can't wait.

For anyone looking for a restaurant which offers amazing service and a menu which is very reasonably priced. The Watermill is a must.

A large group dined at the Watermill on Friday night for a celebratory dinner.

From the initial email enquiry to actually eating there, it has been a brilliant, faultless experience. The manager kept in contact the whole time via email and he was very flexible with cost and the menu choice. The staff were friendly and attentive but above all, professional and the food was excellent. Every effort had been made to ensure we had a good time. There was proper table linen, flowers, extra "Happy Birthday" banners and Christmas crackers, which was a last minute request in the afternoon yet they managed to source them. We all had a wonderful time, everyone commented on how tasty the food was and how much we enjoyed a relaxed evening.

We will definitely be returning and we will definitely recommend The Watermill to friends and family.

Thank you to everyone at The Watermill from Tooting Gymnastics Club

Together with friends and family I have been to this restaurant on many occassions. The Watermill has become our favourite venue for eating out. As some of us are vegetarians it has often been difficult to find dishes that are both varied and beautifully presented. This restaurant excels in doing just that.
We ate at The Watermill on Christmas day and we weren't dissapointed. Everything looked wonderful. Table decorations made of fruit gave the scene an added Christmas feel. The food. Brilliant.
And the staff? Warm, friendly and wonderfully hospitable.
Without doubt this was the best Christmas day we have had in a very long time.
I must just add one more thing. There are cooks and there are chefs. The watermill has a chef in every letter of that word. My husband and I will be holding our wedding annivesary dinner party at The Watermill where we know everything possible will be day to make the evening very special.

Simply the best food in south London, the service is excellent and the price is very reasonable. The chef even bought in Pork Chops, with a couple of days notice, and cooked them to perfection, and Kacey is an excellent host. Well worth a visit. Ed from West Yorkshire.

This is a fabulous restuarant. The presentation of the food was outstanding. Chef Ronnel outdid himself. Service was excellent and the food was very reasonable. One of the nicest steaks we have had in years. Definitely a place to try. Will go back without hesitation.

I'm glad I didn't read the previous review before I went to The Watermill or I might not have gone! It sounds like a totally different place to where I went to.

I friend had mentioned The Watermill to me, apparently they do the best carvery for miles around..but only on a Sunday. I decided to give it a go on Friday and was very impressed.

Great service, great food and great value! I chose the pan fried sea bass which was £12.95, the waitress pointed out their meal deals to me and my partner which meant I could have the sea bass AND a starter or pudd, for just over a tenner! I had the breaded warm brie which was gorgeous. My partner who has more of a sweet tooth opted for homemade apple and raspberry crumble, which he said was nearly as good as his Mums!

I'm not sure how long the meal deal is on for, but even despite the unexpected discount, we are looking forward to going back very soon.

After choosing the Watermill for a late lunch, I'm now questioning my criteria for choosing 'a nice place to eat'. The setting is lovely, even in the rain, the menu has plenty of choice and the decoration looked warm and cosy. The restaurant looked dead, so we decided to eat in the area closer to the watermill, (the venue appears to be in 2 halves). My husband had lasagna and I the warm caesar tortilla wrap. After the hundreds of staff debated what the price should be for the wrap they decided to ask the chef, he told the waitress in full earshot of the customers 'I'm a chef not a waitress, I can't remember everything, look at the menu' Fair comment I think, however the waitress in question stormed back to the till commenting on what a waste of time it was asking him, he didn't know - and so the debate continued until I chipped in with the correct price (read off the menu 3ft away) Apparently I had ordered a meal from the Grill, and my husband from the lunch menu, what a problem it caused!
It was a shame to have to sit next to the scrap bin and a gas cylinder, however the sign which read 'No buggies please' had a couple below with a buggy - this tickled my humour. I wiped my own table down as the mop and bucket and wet cloth (also left lying on a shelf in full view) was black.
We did receive our meals - my wrap had been cooked with lettuce and cucumber inside it - how revolting, I pulled out long back stringy bits which looked like gone off lettuce. The lasagna was fine, chips were cooked in old oil, the smell was grim.
Moral of the story - don't judge a restaurant by its appearance!

My family and I have been to the Sunday Carvery a couple of times,
I would say it is the best Carvery we have had,
My wife and I went on Saturday evening with two friends for dinner,
The meal was excellent and the home made desserts (alone) were worth the visit,
The staff were very friendly and the service was good, on top of that the price was well below what you night expect to pay,
we will certainly be back.

Went to the Watermill for the first time today. My daughter and I both had the carvery. Food: the potatoes were nice and crispy and the vegetables were nicely done, not too soggy. We were very dissapointed with the ambience and decor though. The canteen style furniture was a complete let down. In addition, the furniture was too big and boring.

Also, the restaurant does not have proper toilet facilities. Instead, the customers have to use the public toilet round the back of the restaurant. This is not cool.

I personally will not reccommend the Watermill Restaurant due to its poor toilet facilities.
