Famed restaurant chain Carluccios is offering its diners the chance to sample Sicilian wine specialties at their summer wine festival. Throughout the months of June and July, the wine festival at Carluccios features free wine tastings, three course wine dinners and the opportunity to try some of the most popular wines from Sicily.

Eight weeks of wine
From 7th June to 8th August, the wine festival at Carluccios gives you the chance to learn more about wine – specifically, wine from Sicily. Whether you fancy yourself a bit of a wine buff or would like to hone your knowledge about Italian wines, the Carluccios summer wine festival is the perfect place to sample some vino.

Wines from Families
The wine festival at Carluccios is a season celebrating wines from Sicilian families. On their menu they’ll be featuring 11 wines from the family-run Planeta winery and the Cantine Settesoli co-operative. The wines are priced from £8.95 to £19.50 per bottle, meaning that you can try the best of Sicilian wineries without breaking the bank.

A taste of Sicilian wine
Still not convinced? If you’d like to have the chance to sample the Sicilian wines before you buy a bottle, Carluccios is offering complimentary tasting sessions, every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm from 11th June – 30th July. Try them out before you buy them – who knows, you just might be converted to the Sicilian way of wine making!

Wine Dinners
During the wine festival at Carluccios wine dinners will be held at the restaurants in Clerkenwell, Covent Garden and Chiswick. After a welcome with antipasti and aperitivi, you’ll be treated to a three course dinner of Sicialian specialities, with each course paried up with specific Sicilian wines. A wine expert will be on hand to share their knowledge of the wine, including how it was created and why it’s best suited to the dishes on offer.

The wine festival at Carluccios takes place from 7th June – 1st August 2009. Complimentary wine tastings take place from 6pm – 8pm, every Thursday between 11th June and 30th July.

The wine dinners will be held on Monday 29th June at Carluccios in Covent Garden, Thursday 9th July at Carluccios in Chiswick, and Saturday 25th July at Carluccios in Clerkenwell.
