Wigmore Hall is one of the world's greatest recital halls. Designed by leading English architect Thomas Collcutt in Renaissance style, its grandeur extends down the marble stairs to the lower ground floor restaurant where music lovers (throngs of teenagers or gaggles of middle-aged dears, depending on that evening's concert) gather at dark ash tables arranged around the centrepiece bar to be served a simple selection of seasonal Modern European meals.
