This truly was a terrible dining experience - not sure how they can be allowed to market themselves as "London's most luxurious bar & grill"....must have been in the 60s when they decorated the place and ordered the kobe meat but then forgot to change slogan and left the meat in the backroom for decades ("kobe deluxe burger" - frightening) - I am ashamed of being fooled by false advertising, of bringing my trusty friends there (not so trusty anymore), and most of all for not having read the below reviews dating back to 2006/7, as such avoiding this evening all together. Based on tonight, if anything, it has become worse. Food = bad, cocktails = worse, atmosphere = this decor should beillegal (and what's going on with the annoying 70/80s music??) Also, why decorate a wall with greasy windows looking into the kitchen were staff are slumbering around, eating, having a laugh (at my burger?)....just awful
My wife & I called into the Wolfes Grill before a show, we were seated in a quiet corner, after a while they moved 3 tables together for a large party next to us. I thought to myself that it will be impossible to move once there were seated, it was a complete nightmare & the food was second rate the only thing they seem to cook with is a deep fat fryer.
I refused to pay the 12.5 % for the service we recieved, we will never darken its doors again, and my lodge will not hold its post Christmas meal there ever again.
Wolfe's was an excellent choice for our dinner the other night. The place was busy but the service was prompt and friendly and our steaks beautifully cooked and presented.

Pre theatre meal well presented and good service. Good value for money and choice from the menu. Paul

Do not book A table here! We are a group of normally easily pleased 55-62 year olds who often travel and holiday together. We were in London for 'rugby and shopping'. We spotted the restaurant on the Saturday morning and the ladies decided that we should book a table for our eight, plus two friends who live locally, for the evening. We informed the restaurant staff that the majority of us would be choosing from the 'set' menu recommended on the display board outside. We arrived a few minutes before our friends, and were seated and served drinks (a couple of bottles of wine and some rather expensive beers). It was not until after our friends arrived and were also served drinks that the problems started. We were presented with the menus and informed that four of the main course choices on the 'set' menu , "were off". Had we known this before ordering the drinks, we would have gone elsewhere. However, being reasonable people, we persevered, with more than half of us having to resort to the Ala Carte menu (no discretional discounts offered- and we were informed that the starters we wanted from the set menu would be charged at ala carte price). Meals were presented at varying temperatures, some needing to be sent back, (cold). There was more food left than eaten, and staff were surprised tghat we were not happy. The quality of food was woeful, (running out of mashed potatoe and suggesting chips with Calf's liver?) Compulsory 12.5 % sevice caharge for this service was a like stab in the eye. When we 'discussed the matter' with the management, we were offered a loyalty card! This episode spoilt the entire evening.
Unfortunately a very poor eating experience. Must say I like the decor but the food was poor, the service likewise, no one asked if our food was ok ( it wasn't) despite there being only about ten people in the entire place. When I did mention that my steak was very tough to the head waitress I was informed that it was due to my having ordered it medium rare! Her discourteous manner ensured I'll never eat there again nor recommend it to anyone else.
Wolfe's Bar and Grill is definitely geared towards tourists and work nights out. My steak was overcooked, the salad was not fresh, the salad dressing was tasteless, no-one asked if the food was okay, the croquet potatoes were like something from a school dinner, the decor is as old and tacky as the menu, and they have the cheek to automatically add 12.5 percent service charge to the bill.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this relic of the 1970s. The chef at Wolfe's Bar and Grill clearly does not care about the food he's sending out of the kitchen, and the staff are obviously not interested.
Every month a few of my friends and I head off to Wolfe’s Bar and Grill for lunch. I have to say that everything from the good service and the attractive staff to the food is brilliant. It’s not outrageously priced. The only thing is, you must get to Wolfe’s Bar and Grill early if you're going for lunch as it fills up quickly.
