Sadly, Yo Sushi at Whiteleys shopping mall does not quite live up to the standards set by its sister branch in Selfridges.

The Venue
Whiteleys shopping mall is a prime venue in the heart of Bayswater, near Hyde Park, offering a multiplex cinema, fashionable clothes shopping, coffee bars and a large number of restaurants. Yo Sushi is just one of the restaurants on offer to hungry customers and can be found on the top floor of the mall.

The Atmosphere
Whiteleys is lively and offers a perfect place for families to amble, couples to date and mothers to push prams. The sushi bar is also fairly lively and attracts a cosmopolitan mix of people sitting up at the bar. It is just unfortunate that the service is can be slack and the chefs inattentive.

The Food
The food is more what you would expect of a fish and chip store rather than a sushi bar. Customers sit and watch the conveyor belt go round but the tempting treats you would expect are not on offer. Instead, you have to wait for ages for your choice of sushi to pass you by and then, when it reaches you, it can taste a little tired.

The Drink
Water and green tea are provided on tap and is good value because you can have an unlimited amount of either of these for just £1. A nice selection of oriental beer is also available.

The Last Word
At its best, sushi makes a very healthy meal but this particular branch of Yo! Sushi has a long way to go before it lives up to the standards set by so many other similar restaurants.
