Went here for brunch with my friends on a Sunday - staff were lovely, food was delicious and it was really quite reasonable. Would definitely recommend!
I would love to like this bar, however I hated in on so many levels.
Having lived in the area all my life and tried most of the bars in Upper Street, I can honestly say I will never go back here again.
The service at the bar is slow (due to the cocktail making), so the queue for the bar is deep. The table service slower - 40mins we waited. We told to keep the noise down as people were eating at a nearby table, despite the music and it being 9pm on a Saturday. We were by no means making a lot of noise just the normal talking!!
When my friend queried the bill at the table, he was subjected to a volley of abuse and aggression from the rudest waitress I have ever encountered. When he asked to see the manager, the manager duly through him out! When I asked why, I was told he was being overly aggressive. The fact that the bouncer was the most reasonable person there should tell you everything you need to know.
Please, there are plenty of cool bars and places to drink on Upper Street, this is not one of them.
We had exclusive use of the restaurant and bar for our wedding reception on a hot sunny afternoon in June. . Grace was fantastic, efficient and so helpful nothing was too much trouble. We were not limited to the menu of the season and everything was pre-ordered with menu cards for all the guests which meant the waiting was discrete yet attentive.
We wanted a relaxed informal family meal; the venue and staff provided just that.
A great big thanks to Grace and all the staff for making it such a memorable day.
Andy and Vicky (Mr and Mrs)!
Great atmosphere, Top Cocktails, delicious food and attentive staff. This is the best Bar/restaurant I have been to in a long time. Real attention to detail on their drinks menu and rarely have i come across better service. (and no, I dont work there). This was a first visit for myself and partner.
Ziloufs is a 5 star restaurant. We had our Christmas Party 2010 there and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were warm and friendly and the food (although not traditional Christmas fare) was delicious (the best Christmas meal we have had to date!)and very reasonably priced! I would recommend Ziloufs to anyone.
Went here last night. Food was excellent, cocktails pretty good, with 2-for-1 if you order them before 7pm. Jug of tap water given to you by default is superb, I wish more would do the same. Wine list represents excellent value for money, the Nostros and Opportunist being particularly excellent wine for those prices.
Had my 30th Birthday at Ziloufs. It really was a most enjoyable evening. Everything about the place was relaxed and classic. The decor was interesting to look at and the music was well put together. We had a selection of food from the kitchen which was amazing and drank many of the wonderful cocktails (a few too many!). Would highly recommend the place to anyone who would listen.
A big fan of the place. A massive T-bone with seafood and chips was just what the doctor ordered. Loved the cocktails too - their espresso martini is one of the best pick-ups I've had!
Tried this place last night for the first time, and will definitely be back!
Staff are delightful, and ambience is buzzy without being overpowering. Suited me as I was on my own, but would work with a crowd or a date.
Cocktail menu quirky but didn't try one on this occasion. Cheapest red wine was good value at £15. The list is again, quirky, but very reasonably priced.
Had the lamb with courgette rosti (asked them to change from spring greens which I hate and they did this with no fuss), with pineapple juice as a dressing. Odd, but worked really well - lamb was perfectly cooked. Bread, with pumpkin also very good.
And weirdly, I loved their cutlery!
Fish tank in a tv looks awesome. Lovely retro design all round. Order lamb with heavenly harissa yoghurt.
Me and my girlfriends just love the place. Quirky laid back decor with clever stylish touches help create a cool, upbeat but not rowdy atmosphere. The bartenders seem to know their stuff and are a lot of fun. Only tried a few starters, which were unusual and tasty. The chips w/ wasabi mayo! are too die for.
In a word: misguided.
The food and drinks were weirdly spiced. My lychee martini had a whiff of cleaning product and my husband's pork belly main was inedible. Someone's trying hard but, unfortunately, failing. I don't know why you'd mess with classic Asian flavours in this way.
On the plus side, the staff were really friendly and attentive, the bar bit was fun and the prices are decent.
I went here for my birthday meal a couple of weeks ago and I was not disappointed.
The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The ice-cream is amazing! The only thing I didn't like was the lady who started singing and playing piano.
I'm sure she has a lovely voice but we didn't want to hear it while we were eating and trying to chat.
Otherwise, excellent and I can't recommend it enough!
We went here for a friend's birthday last week and we were all really pleased with the place. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, while the place itself is quite stylish but laid back. It wasn't too busy for Upper Street, and the disabled facilities were good. Cocktails are really good and they had a selection on 2 for 1 all night (on a Friday!). Try the pork belly if you do go here, it is amazing!
Was plesntly surprised on new year eve to find tyrone noonan singing at ziloufs, the last time i saw him he was singing at the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony. Turns he has a there every thursday.. the boy can sing!
Oh the party rocked!
