The ViewLondon Review
Located at the heart of one of London's business hubs, Dion is filled with a city-slick clientele unwinding after a long day at the office. The VenueThe bar itself is situated in the middle of the room, with stylish booths set high off the ground on one side and a stunning St Paul’s view on the other. Despite having a backdrop of one of London’s most beautiful buildings, Dion’s interior is restrained, with brown leather seating, white marble floors and wooden surfaces.
A chandelier made of wine glasses hangs above the steps leading to the lounge-friendly downstairs area which is decked out with big, inviting sofas.
The AtmosphereDion attracts an after-work crowd which seems to consist mainly of investment bankers, all suited and booted, yet the bar manages to remain unpretentious. The addition of live music on Wednesdays puts a tap in everyone’s toes.
The DrinkWines from around the globe and an impressive list of champagnes are on offer. A bottle of champers will set you back at least £55.00 for a non-vintage, whilst popping the cork of a prestigious cuvee costs anywhere from £80.00 to more than £500.00 so get those expense accounts at the ready.
For those whose palette is tuned towards cocktails, a mixologist is on hand to shake up a pick-me-up in a glass.
The Last WordMore suited to relaxing than revelry, Dion is a pleasant bar for a post-work drink with an enticing drinks' menu for the more mature drinker with a discerning palate.
