Race of Champions in London

This is the 21st anniversary of the Race of Champions Nations Cup and the ROC has brought the competition to the capital once again. The new Wembley Stadium will be packed to capacity as 60,000 spectators from all different countries root for their favourite driver.

Race champions
With Race of Champions tickets you can see drivers that have won some of the world’s toughest races, including Formula 1, Rally, NASCAR, Champ Car, Le Mans, Touring Cars, Dakar Rally-Raids, X-Games and many more. These champions have one more competition to vie for, so get set to cheer them on.

The race
More than a dozen of the world’s top drivers will go head to head in an all out competition to be declared the 2008 Champion of Champions. Each driver will face off against another in identical cars until there is only one driver left. Last year saw German F1 legend Michael Schumacher pipped at the post by Swedish all rounder Mattias Ekstrom, who retained the title he won in 2006. The 2008 Race of Champions looks set to be just as tight affair, so head down and see whether Ekstrom can win it for a third year.

Countries and cars
Some of the countries you’ll get to see compete with Race of Champions tickets include France, Germany, Scandinavia, Finland, USA, Spain, Scotland, and of course, England. The drivers will be competing in specially prepared cars – previous races have included cars like the Citroen Xsara WRC, the Porsche 911 GT3, the Renault Megane Trophy Prototype, the ROC-Car buggies and the Aston Martin V8, so there’s guaranteed to be something special to see at the 2008 race.

The new Wembley Stadium
London’s new stadium, completed in the summer last year, will let you have a completely panoramic view of the entire track from every single one of the seats. The track will be created just for the race, take approximately 5 days to build and 3 days to dismantle. It’s specially designed so that the layout is perfect for speed and power along with plenty of opportunities for side by side racing.
