Where

Victoria Park

Every summer, Victoria Park festivals take over the famous London landmark, bringing some of the world’s finest acts to East London for mirthful musical merriment in the summer sun. We’ve put together a list of all the Victoria Park festivals taking place in 2010, so take a look and get ready for another summer of peerless partying in one of the capital’s best-loved parks. And remember, whatever your particular cup of musical tea is, Victoria Park festivals cater impeccably, whether it’s massive names from around the globe or those most have never even heard of.

Lovebox Festival
One of the biggest of all the Victoria Park festivals, the mighty Lovebox, returns once again in 2010, this time extending its stay to three days of glorious partying. You can expect to see the likes of Dizzee, Grace Jones, Roxy Music, the secretsundaze boys and organisers in chief, the sterling Groove Armada, all making sure Victoria Park gets very, very funky indeed.

Field Day Festival
Another massive Victoria Park festival, Field Day makes a very welcome return in 2010 too, following up last year’s huge success by bringing James Holden, Max Tundra, Beth Jeans Houghton, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Caribou and Phoenix to the Viccy Park stage. There’s plenty of other entertainment too, including a brass band on the Victoria Park Band Stand as well as loads of great food, welly throwing, barn dancing and much more.

Underage Festival
One of the festivals at Victoria Park is just for those of you that are lucky enough to be between 14 and 18 years old, and it’s the really rather marvellous Underage Festival. They really don’t scrimp on the acts attending either, bringing the likes of Mia, Annie Mac, Tinchy Stryder, Chase and Status, Lightspeed Champion, New Young Pony Club, Ellie Goulding and many more to Victoria Park.

Music Village Festival
Adding an international twist to the festivals in Victoria Park, the Music Village Festival brings sizzling tunes and global music galore, with music coming from Cuba, Colombia, Bangladesh, the Middle East and elsewhere. There’s rap from Jamaican Muslim female group Poetic Pilgrimage, dance from the Congolese Kasai Masai, salsa from big band Conjunto Sabroso, gypsy string music from Poland and a whole lot more. But the best thing? It’s completely free.

LED Festival
If it’s dance music you’re after then the inaugural LED festival might be right up your sweaty-palmed alley. A veritable Who’s Who of turntable talent descend on Victoria Park for a huge knees-up, with highlight acts including Tiga, David Guetta, Soulwax, Leftfield, Annie Mac, Aphex Twin, Goldfrapp and the Audio Bullys.

High Voltage Festival
Proving that Victoria Park can do rock music too, it welcomes the mighty High Voltage Festival, where some of the world’s finest rock luminaries pick up their plectrums, grab the mic and prepare to shake Viccy Park to its very core. Headline acts include ZZ Top, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Marillion, Argent, Uriah Heep, Clutch and Pendragon, so get ready for a very loud weekend in East London.

Tiesto
One of the biggest events of all of last year was the massive Tiesto concert in Victoria Park. In fact, it was so big, so successful and so darn good that he couldn’t resist the opportunity of returning in 2010 for another massive gig. And whilst it’s not strictly speaking a festival, it deserves a mention because if trance is your thing then you’re unlikely to find much better than the world’s biggest trance DJ, performing live in Victoria Park.
